Data valid as at 23:59 GMT November 9th, 2020.
Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting except for the Victorian 14 day moving averages. 10 new cases for Australia and no deaths so the CMR drops to 3.278% while active cases rise to 1,307. NSW recorded 7, SA recorded 2 andc the NT recorded 1 case. Victoria reported no new cases for the last 24 hours for the 10th consecutive day. 4 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.259% and active cases rise to 51. The UK had a higher 21,350 new cases yesterday. We know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines so we are going to ignore the CMR but even using their method they recorded 194 deaths. Just under 111k new cases in the USA yesterday and 550 deaths sees CMR drop to 2.368% and active cases rise to 34.7% with the raw numbers rising and now over 3.4M. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences. Other notable points: (it's still the weekend again) Global cases pass 51M with the last 1M taking 2 days; South America passes 10M cases; Belgium passes 500k cases; Europe sets a new daily high of 322,512 on 7/11; The USA completes 159M, India 118M, Russia 65M, UK 36M, Spain 19M and France 18M tests. Albania (525) - for the 7th consecutive day; Georgia (2,927) - for the 7th consecutive day; Canada (4,622); and Iran (10,463) ... all recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive days.

Alert issued for Melbourne Central, Melbourne and Adelaide airports after 2 VIC women, and 1 SA woman test positive today. The 2 VIC cases have previously tested positive, and are said to be towards the end of the infection cycle. That's why they weren't included in todays VIC total.

I wasn't going to say that
Testing is steady and increasing slightly. https://covidlive.com.au/report/daily-tests/vic |

I am surprised by how the testing numbers still are - a credit to the people showing up and a bigger credit to the tireless workers doing the testing, it must get so monotonous

Getting tested for the sake of it seems like a waste of time and resources. Sure, asymptomatic cases will be caught but a negative result is only relative to that day you got tested.

Exactly, but if they are screening tens of thousands randomly then some positive will show up eventually, if they are out there
If people show up to a hospital ED with cold or flu like symptoms they will be tested, same as if they show up to their local GP, they won't need to be going to a testing station

No testing needs to trend up, its about the only way you can try and predict anything.
So we are planning to come to VIC for Christmas, guess we will have to buy some masks? Whats the limit on groups?

From that date (22/11) hospitality venues can increase to 100 indoors and 200 outdoors and there are also increases in the size of other public gatherings (wedding, funerals etc.). Public gatherings will go up to 50 people. Indoor gatherings will still have caps dependant on venue type and a density limit of one person per 4m2.

That's the catch at the moment, travelling is one thing, its the return quarantining that may make it not viable.

Russ has done a great job of summarising the relevant details, but if you want more info, here's the best page for that

You sure about that one, Russ? The page I linked above says that Vic metro and regional are on the same restrictions and the cap of 2 visitors per day per household applies to both?
