What do these moose tests from 5 years ago have anything to do with the new Ranger that none of us have driven yet?
Does anyone have any info on when we are likely to see the full specifications, brochurs and accessories for the new Ranger?

Quick chat with the dealer today, Order timelines seem to be very loose and pre-sales are exceptionally strong, XLT V6 circa 68-69K, Sport V6 71-72 on the road.
Probably looking at going the Sport with the Touring Pack, then will see on launch how competitive their accessories pricing is. |

68mm difference is to the plastic roof rails on the wildtrak, it's 26mm on XLT etc.
The ranger is approximately 2% higher with a 4% wider wheel track.

I only disputed Bossy pants who stated the Triton had a higher centre of gravity then I quoted the figures , and yes you are quite right Rangerest the running gear could be mounted lower lowering the COG but I would think it would be similar and the Triton is nearly 300kg lighter (2018 specs remember) which also has a bearing
Its rather interesting the lengths you fellas will go to to dis prove what I'm saying

When you look at the chassis legs of Ranger compared to it's competitor, you will get a clue as to where the weight is on them.

Thought the same seams to more mow down the cones ...looks heavy ....suppose 300kg,s would make a difference....guess the trade off the Triton’s a bit jittery

With regards to the Triton/Ranger moose tests on the previous page, hardly an equal comparison when the Triton is carrying a canopy which would change its CofG considerably compared to the Ranger without one.
Id say the 69kph result is actually good considering. |

Missing from the discussion is also a critical component of stability and weight transfer. That is roll center height. Roll center height is a component of suspension type, mounting points of arms and springs.

My son has pulled out of the purchase of the new Raptor, too new he reckons, will probably have 'new model' teething problems, he is getting rid of his Y62 for the same reason, he loves it but it has had some significant warranty issues and he doesn't want to go through it all again, getting stuck in the bush coz it throws codes

don't blame him IF your a regular to serious off roader and with trailers etc....
I know a guy went off his cherry when the recent new Land Rover came out, he was old scholl loved the previous ones but this high tech one was the biggest PIA POS he ever had. Killed him got ride of it, got the new 300Series coming. Spouse that will be another late model offroad test ownership. These things are getting too complicated for regular offroaders.
