fantastic find but I find it difficult to believe chris evans paid upto 5.5 million pounds for one car in 2008 but the family was unaware that the remainder of the cars value . if they were not aware of the value then such a number would never have been thought of...at a guess this was probably a well known collection to those in the upper echelons of European classics but no one could get the "family" to sell anything. much like the "chicken coupe rpo" here in Australia.

God yes, Facel Vega...awesome cars with big engines.
I loved the 1965 Maserati AG6...not to mention the Talbot Lago T26 Grand Sport coupe which looks like it was one of the cars shamefully just left virtually in the open. Imagine that thing fully restored! |

Had to laugh at the Ferrari dealer's comment about how gutted he was to learn that the Ferrari was going to auction. How unfortunate that the car will be sold on the open market and not to some parasite like him who then on-sells it for a massive profit....

There's some real money sitting around there...for one thing I spotted a little LJ (?) Torana coupe that would be worth plenty if in decent enough condition. Rare as hens teeth nowadays.
Not to mention the Kingy panel van, all the later Toranas, the '59 Chev (is that a GTR beside it???) and if that's a genuine SLR5000...well, he's sitting on a gold mine... The Ferrari dealer? I can see both sides...it would be great if Ferrari could get it for a museum or car collection where the public will be able to appreciate it and see such a wonderful old car...better that than have it vanish into some private collection where it will never be seen again unless we're lucky that the buyer is one of those guys who takes them to concourse events and actually uses them. We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about. “Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”. |

I'm not really sure if she was found in a barn either, but she's safe here with me for now! Twenty years after first watching that movie, i just happened to stop in at Joe's Golden Gasoline in Adelaide (a few years back now)on a whim with my wife...just for a look! Sitting in the furthest corner, when the shed door was swung open was THE car i had all ways wanted...crawling all over it i did feel some what like Arnie Cunningham. So, i made a deal and picked her up a couple weeks later... So she's a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere (Christine was a 1958) apparently she was picked-up in El Paso on the Texas-Mexico border. A little different being a black on black car, originaly running a 301 power-pack and three on the tree. Most of the upper-end Belvedere's would have been 318 (Poly) and torque flight. I have a long-way to go as you can see...she has been sitting, patiently waiting her turn....we'll see if i'll turn into another old fool telling people that the car in the shed is not for sale, as i'm gonna do it up....one day... |

Joe's closed-up a while back and i think he ( Joe Belperio) went into real estate?
I can't wait to see it under-way also, but have quite a bit on my plate at the moment including the old f100 needs some TLC and a '66 ranchero i'm not sure what i'm going to do with!...but i have had time to be shopping up a few good bit's and pieces for the Plymouth like some fresh sheet metal,a host of stainless trim a genuine dual four barrel intake and carbs from a Fury and more... Apparently patience is the key |

Customer had a 68 XT sedan in his shed for 19 years. Had a beautiful paint job, bucket seats and the interior had all been redone. Had been covered up and was in amazingly good nick with basically no rust. No motor or box but everything else including extractors, twin system and cragar mags. Got offered it for $2000, never been interested in the model, so a mate grabbed it for a daily for his missus as he has a 302 Windsor and box to go in it. They are still out there...........

My Mustang after six years under a tarp in the owners fathers garage.
Was always going to restore but didn't happen. Parents sold up and car had to go.

Helped the boss's son move into his new house today & across the road in the driveway I spot a white XC sedan & in front of that an XY Fairmont.
Just happened to see the neighbour out and started chatting & asked about the cars. XY doesn't run & the XC is an ex-interceptor. He now has my mobile number. |

I can go the pink Charger, but pink bumpers. Shame it's rotting away, hopefully the owner comes to hi senses before it's too late.
