The more i see pictures, the more i like it.
Just like i didnt like the FGII XR front when it was released, it grew on me and now I dont mind it. I think in time the FG-X will make the FG and FGII look a bit dated. Particularly the front end anyway.

Agree with that, Chopped. Thios is a new model, and it's a transitional model at that. Just like the XF got us used to the sloping front, pre-EA26, then the EL got us used to the more streamlined AU, this one's paving the way for Mustang, Mondeo?, Fusion? I think it's spot-on.

Probably to reduce the polarising effect the front will have on some potential buyers...........the more they see it the more they will like it.........grow on them if you like. Cheers Mick |

IMHO the EF/EL and BA/BF were the best looking Falcons of the last 30 years with the EF/EL being the last highest quality Falcon model before Ford AU went el cheapo with Chinese components and dodgy glass on the doors after abandoning Pilkington and other local suppliers in favour of cheaper Chinese garbage (like others at the time) and no surprise that the EF/EL was the last best selling Falcon.

Hmmm, silver 'XR6' for the non-turbo, silver+red 'XR6' for the turbo'd version, with no goofy offset 'Turbo'? I could get on board with that, even if it would eat into what few differentiating details the XR8 has.
Never happen though. |

The XR6 badges do denote whether it's a turbo or not ie Red "6" numeral = turbo and of course Black "6" numeral = NA XR6.
I drove that particular blue XR6T.The angle( no offense to the photographer) simply does not do it justice. I don't know of the current auto XR6Ts but this one from standstill,I planted my right foot to 100km/h(in normal mode TC on) not even a hint of wheel spin.Fantastic job considering no launch control. |

Its all in the detail! Seriously they are better off not having any visible exhaust. They couldnt even get those tips right with FPVs with people obviously paying more money for a car being "hand built".
That tip doesnt suit a FG let alone the FG XABC123.

Re: "it's a ute" and tools, dogs, drunks etc.. Appears the drunk tradies don't mind the red camp V8 utes? 430kw maloo sold out 3 months before it's built? VF SS utes. Buggarall of them on the road?? 4 yrs ago the XR50 utes WERE a bit "special".. 2014/15, FG is Dated! AND I bought my XR50t ute AND the first of the BA Pursuits AND at least a dozen other BRAND NEW Fords/FPVs over the years because I bleed bloody blue! What I'm saying is Ford are treating their loyal ute buyers with contempt with this latest offering.. Bloody disgrace! (Just sayin!!)

Not to mention the engine sizes of any model haven't been released yet and the VF SS still having the same 270kw the VE had. Get off the chardy's bro.

Does the front LHS light look a little bit oval compared the RHS one?

[QUOTE=Nikked;5189596]So, like, did you expect anything different? Just sounds like nit-picking for nit-pickings sake...
XG ute had a rear from '79...what's that...nearly 20 years? BA ute shared the AU tub...got a good 10 years from that... If this was simply an FG111 (which it IS) and not being spruiked as a brand "NEW" Falcon along with the huge expectations, then yes.. Totally agree Nikked. I simply reckon us ute buyers are being treated like dills? NO V8.. Same old turbo6.. And a gay front bar that does NOT suit the FG ute! Anyhow, last time I'll ever have to worry about the NEXT model Falcon! (And THAT IS bloody tragic!)

Seeing all these outside photos with no trim shots it shouldn't be that hard to work out why?
Be happy they are letting us get photos of the outside this early. I made my choice with regard to the ute too, sorry but 270 would never have cut it for me, v8/310 I would have bought in a heartbeat. Ford abandoned the true performance ute a long time ago, no f6, pursuit and an xr8 with an fpv price (gs) drove all the ute buyers to ss.

You sound like you need a Holden ute. That's what people buy when they don't really want a work ute.

As far as I know, Ford never said the interior would have major changes.
