Interesting that SA has received a lot of focus over the last couple of weeks with their Parafield cluster, but NSW has consistently recorded a higher number of daily cases in that same period, but without the same level of coverage.

The only reason I can see behind that is that some, or maybe even all, of the NSW cases are not locally sourced, rather they are overseas people returning? Does anyone know?

Some further global stats:

We now have 217 of the 231 countries with at least one case.

24 of those (11.1%) have had cases but no deaths with one country (Yemen) having a CMR over 20% but with very little testing.

18 countries have infection rates below 10 cases / 100k while 150 have rates above 100 cases / 100k and 112 have more than 500 cases / 100k.

77 countries (35.5%) have mortality rates below 2 per 100k of population while there are 96 countries below 10 deaths / 100k and 68 countries with more than 20 deaths / 100k.

Do the figures actually get split out to say who is in hotel quarantine?

Ie - what is on the loose and what is contained?

NSW seems to have the odd "mystery" or "community" cases here and there, but then it just disappears. I wish, in general, we would stop counting returning travellers in the daily reporting. It really doesn't add anything and hides the "true" numbers that we should be worried about.

Also, interesting to see the tactic taken by SA vs Vic (yes yes I know, this is not a state vs state thing....)

VIC went to pains to not blame or identify those that caused the outbreak and spread.
SA publicly targeting the one(s) pizza man.

Will be interesting to see how that affects future responses. The stick or the carrot?

I found the VIC strategy of "no-one is to blame" particularly frustrating and, given the numbers, ineffective. I think SA making an example of pizza-boy would have given others pause to consider b4 doing something careless, selfish or foolish.

Maybe Vic is too much lefty. Seemed like they were concerned people wouldnt go get tested if they started "blaming". Did the strategy work? They got good testing rates.

Would be interesting to also see what "community" this SA person came from. There seems to be some that we have to tip toe around.

Maybe time will tell which strategy works.

Myself and my daughter got tested today.

They go to the trouble of sending you a text to say your results are in and to see your doctor.

Why can't they just put in the same text positive or negative?

It would either make you sleep easier tonight, or give you a head start for isolation.

Considering I got the text at 8:20pm it means nothing till business hrs tomorrow.

If you go from Adelaide to Melbourne, do you still have to do 14 day quarantine?

My cuz returned home from overseas a couple of weeks ago. Landed in Adelaide and isolated there for 14 days. Asked airport in SA whether she would have to quarantine again when arriving in Melb, they said no. She went from hotel to SA airport and caught a flight to Melb. Landed, came out and has been going about doing her stuff. Two days later, gets a phone call from DHHS..."you need to do quarantine" WTF?!?!?

Starting to lose faith....

The experts say after 28 days without community transmission Victoria has eliminated Covid 19. One of the very few places in the world to achieve that after the virus was out of control in the community.

Well done Victoria!

Or, people with symptoms dont want another lockdown so aren't being tested.

Anyone else a bit suspicious of this pizza place?

This morning its been reported that a teenager has supposedly caught it from picking up a pizza from this joint.

So first someone who works there wanted to hide the fact the work there. Now you have people being infected from picking up a pizza.

Are there "extra toppings" we haven't been told about?

You can hide if you have it and don't want another lock down. You can also have it and not know it.

At some point you will have to take a dump, then they will find it by testing sewage.
They are not finding it in sewage!

Special mention to the crew doing the testing!

There has been wide spread problems with contact tracing, a lot of people being caught out for more than CV19...LOL

Except the thousands of people in Victoria who know they still have it, are being told by the deep state to only dump in septic systems. Don’t you know anything? It’s a global conspiracy by the Illuminati and MSN MSM!

Data valid as at 23:59 GMT November 26th, 2020.

Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting.

13 new cases for Australia and no deaths so the CMR drops to 3.255%. WA recorded 7 cases, NT recorded 2 and SA recorded 1.

1 new case and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.225% and active cases rise to 60.

The UK had a lower 17,55 cases yesterday. We know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines so we are going to ignore the CMR but even using their method they recorded 498 deaths.

Just over 183.5k new cases in the USA yesterday and 2,331 deaths sees CMR drop to 2.063% and active cases fall to 38.6% with the raw numbers rising and now over 5M. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences.

Other notable points:
Global cases pass 61M with the last 1M in 2 days;
North America passes 400k deaths;
Global deaths set a new daily high of 12,053 (25/11);
The USA completes 187M, India 135M, Russia 74M, UK 42M and Romania 4M tests.

Finland (496);
South Korea (583);
Lativa (898) - 40% above the previous high;
Panama (1,602) - the previous high on July 6th;
Moldova (1,691);
Azerbaijan (3,705);
Croatia (4,009) - 12% above the previous high;
Serbia (7,606);
Turkey (7,657);
Iran (13,961);
Ukraine (15,331); and
Russia (25,487)

... all recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive days.

To be fair though, the wastewater testing is only being carried out in 40 locations across the state. Whilst that gives a reasonable coverage, it by no means assures that there are no cases of COVID-19 in the Victorian populace.

It's weird to see the US CMR dropping. I can only assume this is because of the huge numbers of cases and the deaths are going to catch up soon enough.

its because the most vulnerable are already dead . Also they were caught in a lot of places putting all and sundry deaths down as covid and have been under pressure.

Like drive your car into a tree , die on the spot , then get a test positive for covid and presto you died from covid.

There is some incentivizing in our awful healthcare system to record as many deaths as possible from covid. I.e. monetary benefit per case

They don't put the cause of death as Covid when someone dies in a traffic accident.

Why would they even bother testing someone for Covid when they are already dead on the spot in a car accident and what incentive is there for someone who is dead.
