Using similar products on my matte wheels did not alter their appearance so you should be fine.

Today for the first time went bead machine route on my i30.
Started with a wash, being super thorough with wheel arches, mud flaps, wheels (getting inside the barrel with my new Flat Head). I used Armoral wash and wax, bit of wheely clean and orange agent. These steps inspired by DFB and how perfect his arches look. Then washed rest of car with fresh bucket of nanolicious. Next step was spray three way onto the car. Didn’t see much reaction but the car is grey. Didn’t use clay at all, as I don’t have any currently. Paint felt smooth anyway. Washed again. (Nanolicous) Dried up with big green sucker. Now we were going to use paint cleanse and restore (bowdens) on the whole car, but the paint felt quite smooth anyway. Next was flash prep then bead machine. Quite easy to apply. Following this we used Autoglym bumper and trim restorer. Horrible stuff, super greasy but looks OK. Will replace this one day when I finish the bottle. Then my super cheap tyre shine. Initially I wasn’t impressed with the bead machine shine and smoothness. However after leaving it for a bit, and washing my hands I have come around. The paint is super shiny and smooth. Really impressed. Shame it isn’t a sunny day.

Continuing the theme of Australian Made Car Care Products that you have probably not seen.
A Company called Super Syrup seems to be taking the way Bowdens names their products to the next level. Their Car Shampoo is called Cleanasfu@k. Don't seem to be able to get a picture to load so can only link to the site. https://www.supersyrup.com.au/ Please note I have not used or are recommending them.

Hmmm. I guess the products are pretty ordinary if they need to use half dressed females as bait?

I agree though, that other company probably isn’t that good if they have to go to those lengths.

I love to support Aussie made, but yeah it was a tacky website. I wouldnt buy from them BECAUSE of the pictures... names I can live with, and I swear every day, but I wouldnt want them to think I was suckered in by their tacky photos..

I LOL at how many people use those brushs over their rides - 4 bays then the 4th is the Touchless wash bay, empty most times but takes all types.

I swapped from an old fashioned wax to a ceramic style product when I did the FG last. The car seems to be picking up and holding onto alot more road grime. It still washes off with no dramas but seems to get dirtier quicker.
Anyone else experienced this between products?

Cool, sounds like its not just my imagination.
I've still got the old bunky Corolla so I'll try doing some test patches on that and see what happens. Its still got the trials of the trim restorers I was playing with that need checking too.

For my third week in a row to click and collect at repco I purchase this combo. Enjoyed using it today, found it to work really well. I wanted it for wheel arches, wheels and more soiled sections of the car. One day I’ll upgrade to a pressure washer. I also used for the first time today Vinyl Revival by Bowdens. Not impressed at all really. Autoglym bumper and trim gel is far superior (albeit quite yuck and messy) Bowdens stuff didn’t really do anything for the plastics and didn’t work at all on rubber window surrounds.

Seriously, I have never used Nu-Finish, although I do remember my Grandfather having a bottle many years ago. I assume you are referring to this product - From what I can gather, this stuff does the job and is generally designed to be user friendly for those who don't detail often. These are the directions for use - Wash and dry car > Apply sparingly with damp cloth to one area at a time with circular motions > Let dry to a haze > Wipe with clean dry cloth, turning frequently > For maximum protection, apply second coat in 30 days. To be honest, there are easier to use products that don't require the effort of Nu-Finish. For example, there are a plethora of spray sealants such as this that are a simple spray and wipe application - https://www.turtlewax.com.au/product...-spray-coating Even easier would be a water activated product like 303 Touchless Sealant. For something like this, simply wash the car as usual, then while the car is still wet, apply a few sprays per panel and then rinse with water. You will see the water start to bead immediately. Then dry the car and you are done. https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/...ml/579912.html

Shoot a few pics when your done, I have never really witnessed the results of Nu-Finish. There has to be a reason why they still make it after all these years.

ive decidied to touch up the paint pre-polish. after all its 19 years old and a couple of tiny spots of rust are showing plus a few stone chips.
on the right hand scrubbed with dish washing liquid, left is the moss. its not easy to get off, i,m using a plastic pot washing brush, but is mostly working. |
