I suspect the tolerance for China will fall, especially if as the conspiracy theorists point out, China looks to snap up western assets/companies on the cheap. |

Buy guns and ammo, then you can take all the supplies from your lefty anti gun neighbor who kindly amassed all these supplies for you and can't defend themselves

Also watch this space on OZ government rescue packages for many companies. Virgin would be a decent example. In financial stress, big employer and is heavily lobbying the gov for a support package. Virgin is around 90% foreign owned. A Middle East Airline, A Chinese Airline and another Chinese financial group. Where do you think our money may end up? Would make GM look like snow white. I hope our Gov is careful how they award such support.

Anyone who thinks we're starting to get it under control, think again. The reason we had a dip in new cases was because the testing was not ramping up with the projected rise from 24th to 25th, and actually fell by half on the 27th. IOW, they were rationing test kits. Expect the case count to start ramping back up over the next few days. The effects of the formal stage 1 restrictions are unlikely to be observable til some time later this week.

When is comes to per person (which is what it's going to come down to IF this virus takes off hear), YES they do. Italy also has a more efficient system than we do. We have one of the best 'developed public healthcare systems' in the world (ranked 8th best in Jan 2020), but Italy is ahead when you take into account their population is much lower than ours.
Best Healthcare in the world by population 2020. 2. Italy 32. Australia https://worldpopulationreview.com/co...rld/#dataTable The Bloomberg annual study, Most Efficient Health Care 2018. 4. Italy 8. Australia https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...ngapore-at-top Also, I have a family friend who is a Doctor and is a dual national (Australia/Italy). He's between Italy and Australia a bit, and often praises Italy's health system more when compared to Australia. This is of course second hand information and not my own experience. But I have no reason to not believe him. |

Also, business insiders saying CH7 will be looking for a buyer soon if things keep going as they have been. CH7 are in a spot of bother with all the sports they paid millions for now not going ahead. Guess who has shown interest in purchasing CH7? SEVEN GROUP HOLDINGS LIMITED stock price currently about the $11 mark. Was over $21 end of Feb 2020. https://www.asx.com.au/asx/share-pri...ch/company/SVW |

XR Martin, as I said, Italy has a better system per capita. And one of those links you posted confirms what I said about Australia having the 8th best developed system. But Italy has a better system, again, per capita. They have well over twice the population we have. |

Here we have a handful of specialists and they are not practising the most paramount thing we are told to date......... social distancing !!!!. Also to note, that one of the Doctors (pic'd) has contracted covid. I work in Healthcare and this is rammed into us to be paramount, but this pic is a standout issue for me. |

That will be one of if not the biggest issue here in Australia too. Medical staff, nurses, doctors, etc., contracting the CV. And then having to isolate. Which means less and less staff available as more and more cases come in. Which in turn puts additional pressure on the remaining staff. This is also something the overseas medical professionals had warned us about.
It's already begun - with doctors and nurses around Australia testing positive. Now having to isolate. Example of a case reported a few days ago: https://www.smh.com.au/national/four...25-p54dmg.html |

I'm finding it amazing how many people on social media have a friend, or a friend of a friend who is a " highly qualified professional in the medical field" and can give out " insider information "
And a tip for the people without guns as a protection. You have a small supply of food for the gun nuts when they come and keep your real supply well hidden. Most the gun nuts will be killed by each other fairly quickly anyway trying to defend there toilet paper. And that's advice from a friend of a friend of mine who is the highest ranking officer in the australian defense force, so you can believe it

We actually sat down as a family for the first time in God knows how long and had lunch together today, bacon and eggs cooked on the Weber. My Wife's employer has gone into full lock down so only employee's can go in or out, 2 of my kids work in fast food and with restaurant dining closing their hours have been reduced, my Daughter recently landed a job in the healthcare industry but unfortunately due to current developments her training has been postponed so she's having to manage on her reduced hours in her current job, the positive is though, that she's having less outside contact and isn't going anywhere to require extra cash at the moment. My eldest son recently landed a job with a bank in their call centre and although still in training, is flat out with calls from customers needing help, he's been fast tracked as a result and is loving it. I finished up yesterday, 2 weeks ahead of our usual shutdown for holidays, however, with SA Schools closing down a week early I was only looking at 1 week loss, then by the time I did my final drop off yesterday there we're no kids left on my run so i'd have been out of a job yesterday regardless, another 4 drivers found themselves in the same boat yesterday afternoon, ironic really. On a personal positive note, the Governments lifeline to small business has given my employer hope and so they're going to keep the doors open for now to see what happens and I've negotiated with them to keep my position open in case they return to trading when we get a better picture of what the future brings. I put in an expression of interest with Woolworths yesterday as they're looking to take on quite a few people in various positions, so a job driving one of their trucks would be a good alternative if it comes to it. I didn't really want to walk away as I love the job but with a Wife working in aged care and our school aged children already withdrawn from school it was a decision to limit her exposure and in turn, the people she provides for and we felt it was worthwhile. Not much point having our kids out of the school environment if im driving other people's kids around twice a day. I actually had someone say to me that I was only walking away so I could claim the Governments welfare money, he soon backtracked when I explained that my Wife earns more than the jobseeker threshold allows and so i'd be able to claim the grand total of **** all. Moving outside of our home environment, I've actually noticed some positives coming through amongst the punters on the street, people are actually respecting peoples space and accommodating one another. As someone said on the radio yesterday, when this is all over people will actually appreciate the things which we've taken for granted for so long. Stay safe and healthy guys. |

There’s reason to believe this was specifically done to go after Trump. To ruin the economy, to make him look bad. This is not as wide spread as it’s made out to be. The modelling relied on is wrong by up to 80%. The medical findings aren’t matching the modelling. The research virologists have been lying to the governments. Watch Dr Deborah Birk, White House Corona Virus Response Coordinator debunk the lies and misinformation spread about the spread, infection rate and death rate peddled by the media. 2 million American's dying from CV-19? Utter BS.

And this is exactly the type of fear and misinformation peddled by #TheirABC.
Nothing but modelling and assumptions. MSM should realise not everyone has double digit IQ’s who believe this garbage.

Why not say it was done to make the sweatshops full of Chinese workers in Italy look bad? The fashion houses charging top dollar for "made in Italy" goods didn't want to pay local labour rates so they imported Chinese workers to work for low pay in sweatshops. Or why not say this is good for the USA because it punishes Iran because they were getting stuff (contravening sanctions, maybe weapons for oil etc) from China? You'd have to be an idiot to think this has anything to do with undermining Trump. He doesn't need help to look bad! Also this damages the opposition the most because it stops them campaigning and doing primaries. This virus got out of China because capitalism - so many foreign countries use chinese labourers because they're cheap. Euro fashion industry, staff on ships etc. They all went home for Chinese New Year and spread the virus after coming back to work. Last edited by oldel; 28-03-2020 at 06:48 PM. |

US intelligence knew about Covid-19 in November 2019. It’s a game of diplomacy at the moment until we’re on top of this issue. Then it will be all about restitution, whether China likes it or not. You’re not one of those double digit IQ folk who believed this came from a fish market in Wuhan?

But for those of us with very real friends in the US I can assure you it’s a very real threat. I doubt a burger, fries and a coke will satisfy the assailants needs, but I’ll pass it on, I’m sure she will feel reassured by this recommendation as she has a gun wielding drug starved whacker holding up her shop or home and pointing a gun up her left nostril and god knows what else up other orifaces . Sorry mate, just a bit of a tender spot for me as I’m concerned for her, but I do understand what your getting at, cheers. Last edited by XByoot; 28-03-2020 at 06:59 PM. |
