Sorry but as it had been a couple of hours without a guess, it was am old car by some standards and little obscure (a combination that has created some frustration with some contenders in the past) and I have to toddle off to bed I thought a few clues were in order. BTW while I have a few books that say the car was built of either polyester or polyester reinforced fibreglass (and claim that as a result the car's body distorted so much at speed that the doors frequently blew open) I can find no reference to this on the Internet.

http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/3...let-Coupe.html

In the second paragraph it says the body was made of aluminium, but in the specs on the right is says fibreglass. It does mention about the doors blowing off in the third paragraph though.

And this one says about the two different fibreglass bodies that were made for it. And that they one of the racers cut the roof off because it was so hot due to the configuration.

I don't know if you've seen these sites or not, sorry if you have already.

No hadn't seen those two sites. The books that refer to them being polyester plastic are all from European authors so perhaps its a euro based myth. Rob De La Rive Box's The Complete Encyclopedia of Sports Cars - Classic Era Grange Books PLC United Kingdom 2001 says in part: "The first two Cheetahs had aluminium bodies but the following cars had polyester ones. This was not an improvement because when the car was driven fast the bonnet inflated like a balloon and the doors were blown open."

OK GO!
Clue. The company uses a (hopefully obvious) car as its base.
