Farley's comments about another EV pick up due in 2025 pretty much give it away.
Be careful, when Farley made those comments he was at the current Lightning launch and talking about
another pickup that Ford was going to make at Tennessee, he was talking about TE1 Lightning but did not
correct the ambiguity, it was deliberate…and the press ran with it.

Mind you, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lincoln LT makes a reappearance,
Clint Eastwood drove one in The Mule…

so expect better than that
He was asking about the Raptor tank size. So the 3.0tt petrol. Any figures from American vehicles running that engine?

Answered my own question. The Explorer ST which weighs in 500-600kg lighter than the Ranger Raptor gets between 18-25mpg so 9.4-13 L/100. I'd probably expect the Ranger Raptor to start at 13 L/100.

Might be a bit more of a wait for you guys on the list.

With PX3 stock almost non existent as we've been told by our industry insiders, this will hurt the monthly figures in the short term you'd have to think.

Or you could compare to 4x4 Expedition with 3.5 EB, similar weight to RR and gets 17-22mpg
10l/100km and 14.5 l/100/km

I read it as being concerned over an 80L tank size.

I'm going to guess the consumption of the diesel to be 9L/100 which should give a range of 890kms plenty enough IMO

I think it will be pretty close to the diesel maybe only a little more depending how you drive..

The Ecoboost are a cracking range of engines, built for economy but just so happen to be pretty powerful

When I signed my final contract I was told December delivery for my V6D Wiltrak at the earliest. Now I see that story who knows...

Yeah, It sure will... I nearly bought a PX3 Wildtrak but the rumour of a V6 Diesel made me hold off... Im glad I did. And in the grand scheme of things, the wait for me is no worse some some other car makers anyway (If we ordered my Wive's Sorento GT Line now, we wouldnt see it until next year, same with Rav4, Cruiser, etc) so its fine.

The main negative of the wait is that the reason for getting it, is so I can make my SSV Redline the weekender and do the remaining Performance mods that will make it fun, but not the best daily (Blower, Intake, Heads, E85) and now I have to wait until start of next year for that... lol... First world problems and all that....

Just looking into the specifications of the V6 diesel. I see its an evolution of the lion engine that was once found in the Territory.

Why must car makers insist of developing an engine with a timing belt.

Is there any reason why they still use a belt verses timing chains.

Don't worry, Holden 3.6L V6 from VZ all the way through to VFII use timing chains and they need to be replaced every 5 minutes because they stretch

*Engine light on*
CMP Bank 1
RIP timing chain

Same with that Nissan 2.5L Diesel 4 cylinder they used in the D40 Navara had a love affair for stretching timing chains.

I do understand though, I too would rather an engine with a timing chain, but you know, NVH and spondoolies.

Some info I’ve sourced,
In F150, the schedule is at 150,000 miles /250,000 km, I hope they keep that for Ranger
Ford warranty time is 4 hours for the main belt but customer price is probably 5-7 hrs.

I'd rather change a timing belt vs a chain, I've never done a V8 toyota but the 4cyl and 6 cyl diesels were a breeze

We did see some belts snap on the Hilux's when the went from 100k to 150k interval though, even when they didn't snap after 150k the timing was almost a tooth out in some cases

According to comments earlier in the thread the engine is based on, or same family as territory engine. Timing belt change interval in Territory is 10years or 165000km. Sure, it will set you back the best part of $2k if you take it to a dealer but it's hardly a big cost in the scheme of things.

I know these cars will still be running fine at 250,000 kms but to many that's a a vehicles lifetime.

Exactly and the point being that most original owners will never have to worry about it anyway….
I’m always cautious about putting Ford and never have to worry about in the same sentence….

Which makes me wonder if the upgraded belt from the 3.0 Powerstroke can be fitted to earlier 2.7 Territory engines…

Is there a belt upgrade? or is the belt in the 2.7 actually fine for higher kms?

I've searched for examples of Belt failures but could only find issues where it wasn't done correctly, and I'm almost certain there are cars been driven around without having the belt changed, there is not dash rest and its not part of the regular service so easily missed IMO.
I'm not suggesting people do this just an observation.

I realise it's a bit off topic for this thread but I've done similar research regarding belt failures, as my car is 10years old this year, and no real evidence of the belts being an issue if not done on time. I agree that there would be plenty of owners oblivious to the Ford recommendation of changing the belt.

sorry even more off topic..
I had a Belt failure years ago on a Toyota Trueno 4AGE. its stripped the teeth on startup.
new belt fitted - no other damage done. easy job

I also had a chain tensioner failure on an older Toyota 3TG engine smashed front casing bent valves oil everywhere.. awful thing to work on

J/LR belt change was/is 100,000 km, Terry is 160,000 km, F-150 is 250,000….sounds like real world feedback.

With earlier engines, J/LR would also change the the oil pump at the same time because the timing belt tensioner mounts to the oil pump and the boss can snap when changing the belt, newer oil pumps have a changed Boss….

I think you'll find the touring pack is available in the XLT, just not for an August delivery.

Ok Rego I assume no profit made there? looks like its cheaper than VIC anyway
I would cancel the compulsory 3rd party and organize your own insurance, and request no dealer delivery - all they do is wash it and bolt the plates on.

looks like they calculate stamp duty on that too which doesn't look right and of course GST calculated on everything
