That picture of yours, smoo - I can imagine the conversations if it ran into the back of someone. Two cars being quoted for bumpers and boot lids.

Hi Guys
I can remember reading an article in a Motor Magazine in the 1970s ( yes i no a lot of you weren't even born yet). It had a picture of a Falcon XY GTHO sitting in a car yard and it had been traded in on a DATSUN yes i said a " Datsun". |

The Subaru Sambar is rear engine only, they do do a 4wd version, From what I have heard they are very capable off road, because of the weight I suppose. |

At that time we were suffering from oil embargo's, fuel shortages & huge petrol price increases. Everyone was being encouraged to downsize to more economical cars. I traded in my Torana Xu1 (with triple Webers) for a Gemini & a close mate got rid of his XC 2 door (ex chaser) for a twin cam Laser.

I used to buy neglected and crashed GT's, XU1's, SL/R's, Monaros, Chargers etc and wreck them, was good coin back in the day, no where near what it is today though , back then there was no way of knowing what they would be worth today, they were very cheap.
