and the other pump supplier is United in Rozelle. They always have the E85 without seasonal blending.

This is all I used. The previous filter was the same type and model. After 50,000km on the old filter using E85 blend, the fuel came out clean with no dirt build up or nothing. It looked like a new filter. http://www.rycofilters.com.au/catalo...AUII/part/Z528

Hey Pras, do you have an estimated price on one of these? Also do you know what the longevity of these units last for?

most of the Aeromotive ones are around the $100-$150 mark, replacement elements i think are around $20. depends on how fine u go, the finer the filter the more crap it will catch.

over did it a bit yesterday. put 35ltr in filled the tank mixed with BP Ultimate. Loss of power...confused computer.... oh well full it with Ultimate and all should be good.
Hopefully fuel pump isn't buggered ! A switchable tune would be great........... but is it possible for less than $1,000 ? |

The reason I am running that kind of mix is because, I have bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump as well as a tune. But I only run 25L of E85 and the rest in 98 as it is. My injectors are 36lbs, what are yours stock? 24lbs? Dude, seriously I hope you havent damaged your engine.

I just rock up at the bowser and see this real cheap stuff and think, what a deal, and fill er up! lol.....a non E85 compatible car now has a full tank of the stuff!! It started and ran OK for a short while, but throughout the day the engine started to feel like it was running on 2 cylinders. Engine light eventually came on and with any slight acceleration or pulling up a hill it would miss and stumble in a big way. Finally realized what had happened and filled up an almost empty tank with ULP the next day but it continued to run crap The stoich AFR for E85 is 9.8:1 compared to 14.7:1 for petrol, so if you just put heap of E85 without changing the tune, you can see how far out it'll be.....hence the reason for running like a dog. The danger with doing this is that you are now running on a very lean mixture....ie: your new tune needs to add about 30-40% more fuel. |

I have recently changed my engine from carb to efi and had it dynoed here in QLD its a:
250xflow n/a 6 throttle body's MoTeC ecu MSD 6al 9.7:1 comp Made: On caltex vortex 98 345.5hp @ 6100rpm 333.3ftlb @ 4700rpm changed to sucrgen E85 and appropriate tuning changes made: 353hp @ 6100rpm 336.7ftlb @ 4700rpm We are now looking into the eflex sensor integration with the ecu so I can run caltex eflex.

You need to run an E85 carby as the Ethanol eats the seals and gaskets in the carby .

You'd also need to get special E85 metering blocks as the passages are bigger to allow for the increase fuel flow.
There's a few companies out there that do carb conversions and or supply kits with an "approxiamate" tune setup. Here's a good website to ask lots of those Q's. http://www.e85performance.net/forums/index.php |

I looked it up , you need to change your main jets , power valve and exceletator pump to suit the fuel . So a full rebuild or an e85 carb is needed.
