There can be issues with lighter colours like bone and what not giving nasty reflections off the windscreen.
I don't know if that's the case here of just Ford sticking with interior colours that have worked previously
Given the expected haughty US price and low volume, Ford will probably want to simplify the build order as much as possible.

Well guys , the opportunity is there for some if they've got the financials and craving to do it. Going by what I've read the U.S. built GT's and Ecoboosts for the domestic market there have fit and finish issues at times like everybody else so whether they're built in the States may or not may not adversely affect the car's build quality . How is that in regard to the Shelby stuff I have no idea.

I'm thinking given the relatively small numbers of 350's and 500's converted here that greater attention to that issue might not be a bad thing . It would be interesting to find out how that goes with the HSV converted Camaro's .

In the States and Canada the dealers almost never sell the premium Mustangs ie 350's/500's at sticker price . They can basically add thousands as they see fit . That might happen here too if or when demand for these pony's happens in the next year or two .

The Shelbys are built down the Flat Rock production line with all the other Mustangs

The only things that can be adjusted post factory is bolt on panel gaps and
possibly ill fitting trim panels. Knowing the way HSV goes over their cars,
I'd say that owners will be more than satisfied by the personal touches that
each Camaro gets.

You bet, the price is the price and they don't convert a car on spec. without a buyer and deposit.

S197 didn't have leaf springs...it was a three link with coils and panhard rod set up.
but i bet you knew that.....

The stupid part was that the program director tore up a perfectly good IRS to save money
and it actually ended up costing them more to make the SRA liveable by modern standards.

Yep and sometimes moving to the future with a lot of this tech crap just because the opposition does it doesnt make it right

As you are aware, the ADR's apply not only to new imported, or locally manufactured vehicles but also to second-hand imported ones that might be brought in privately.

So off the top of my head, I'd say the ADR's are important to stop people importing vehicles that may not comply with our standards in safety, occupant protection, structures, lighting, modified, and a range of miscellaneous items.

None, they actually add unnecessary complication to existing designs...

Years ago I was told by a Ford engineer that ordering something like a RHD Mondeo
would sound so simple until FoA would add changes for ADRs, FoE responds by putting
those builds to the end on the pack while it builds its own easier ECE RHDs and LHDs.
Worse on top, because the design is changed, FoA then accepted all warranty for the changed design.

Every time, every model over and over...that and the legal from of price transfer where cost pile on.

All of which could be better handled by moving forward with ECE harmonization,
the industry and govco bureaucrats have a vested interest in not allowing things to move forward.
Lots of fat cat jobs would be under the microscope...

The reg's are funny, Im not to sure why they are so worried about saving people from themselves.

There are plenty of death traps getting on our roads now that have no issue with clearing rego and insurance yet.

Now local manufacturing is gone there is little point.

I can drive a T Model Ford no problems with the family, no safety devices what so ever but we require global OEM's to comply with local safety standards.

Id like to know what the ADR's require over current OS reg's, and why/how they justify it.

Back to the car, its no doubt awesome, Id still prefer the GT350's package but if all your interested in is HP and straight line speed this is off tap.

The GT500 is getting the hard sell by the blokes who made all the calls on it . Been watching and reading the commentaries on the car in the past few days and it's pleasing most but with a few reservations .

I suppose why there are reservations is because of the passion for such an iconic car that's known the world over despite it not necessarily been available the world over until fairly recently . Of course LHD Mustangs have been imported and /or converted or left LHD before but it's not quite the same as a dedicated RHD version out of the showroom is it ?

They fans don't want there be any chance they bugger the car up somehow especially the Shelby models .

Keyless entry works on my 2017 spec model, probably started on 2015.

One of the main ADR things I can think of would be child seat anchorage points that I think are different to elsewhere. Probably still applies to a Mustang.
