Yes, i have fitted 215's on 17x7inch rims before in the RE001's Im assuming the ST rims are 7inch wide. 225's might fit on the rear, fronts i doubt it unless you went a 30 or 35 profile, which would be too harsh i think.

Hey guys

wondering if anyone has mud flaps installed or ordered some for their ST. They could provide detail on.
I noticed theres abit of residual dirt on the rear bumper. Currently theres some styled flap thingy that doesnt really look like it does anything.

Cant remember who it was that had a sqweeky/clicky clutch pedal, but mine is doing it now. Did anyone have a quick fix?? If not will get it inspected at 3K service.

In regard to point 2.......after the car has been opened via the remote, hold down the unlock bottom for a few seconds and all windows will open....reverse this when locking the car using the lock button. I often do this as the car is parked outside most of the day and when I'm approaching the car I open all windows to let the heat out. I have a Focus ST....but the process should be the same on yours.

I have done a day at Marulan, a pretty small track so not as much pressure on the brakes as at a bigger track like Eastern Creek or Wakefield. Brakes held up well though. After my first session (about 10 minutes and 10 laps) I could smell them cooking, but that was more because I was still learning the track and overusing them. After I got used to the track they were fine and brake fade was barely noticeable. They're also still fine for on road use, haven't noticed any difference to what they were like before the track day.

Does smoothly changing gears wear the clutch more than a jerky gear change with more abrupt pedal release?

Can you clarify, do you mean rev matching/clutch braking while slowing down? its more about what your comfortable with.

They're other brand euro cars where the clutch doesnt last very long given the power...

Arguably 'riding' the clutch in and out of a gear change in search of a smooth shift could speed up wear. I'm no mechanic though. The abrupt changes certainly feel more brutal.

Yeah I was curious which is better for the mechanicals long term. My wife rides the clutch a lot which makes me grimace when she's driving. I ride a bit from stationary in to 1st and then to 2nd but after that I'm pretty quick with the shifts.

Yeah that's pretty much standard for any manual, I''ve found that the FiST responds well to a little bit of clutch riding in and out of 1st and 2nd (during normal driving)

Visited TuneHouse in Sydney yesterday for a dyno day with a few XR5's. They haven't had a Fez ST in their workshop as yet, but seemed pretty surprised at the results and keen to talk shop for aftermarket tuning etc. I am pretty happy with the result as its a good starting point. Did 6 runs back to back with a Max of 123, Min 118. These figures are at the hubs.

Hmm good question.. I suppose not? It only kicks in if you plant your foot and not gradually press the pedal to build the revs, like you would on a dyno? Im really not sure. Having looked at a few graphs from UK their numbers are on a rolling road and higher.

Just read this and ran straight up to the servo, mine was set at 39 front and back, dropped to 36 / 32 and the ride difference is amazing.

Something has been bugging me.. How big should the fuel tank be? 43L or 45L? my last three tanks go something like this:

1st Tank - DTE before fill up = 20kms, Servo 1/Bowser 1, Total to Full - 48.9L
2nd Tank - DTE before fill up = 25kms, Servo 1/ Bowser 2, Total to full - 47.2L
3rd Tank - DTE before fill up = 18kms , Servo 2 /Bowser 1, Total to full - 49L

How is this possible? I dont think all three instances the bowsers were not calibrated correctly. Do we physically have a bigger fuel tank than documented? Anyone else the same??

I'velong suspected that the ST has a bigger fuel tank, I can't be getting the kms I have (with the higher consumption over a standard Zetec) without extra capacity. I'll have a look at the manual.

I got mine from the Mountune website, fortunately i had a friend who was coming over from the UK so i saved on the crazy shipping cost.

Totally worth it though it transforms the way the car feels when you drive it.

Guys when you lock the car is your fuel filler cap still open? I lock my car but seems anyone can open the cap and siphon if they wanted to...

When the car is locked the little metal sleeve over the filler is locked so you can not actually put anything into the filler.

That's what I thought but testing it yesterday I could still put the plastic funnel that came with the car in to the filler when the car was locked. Is every one else's the same?

Can confirm what garat05 has said about the fuel cap, door will open but there aint no way that little flap inside is opening easy for anyone.

I'll try it a again with the key in the house. Perhaps that was the problem even though I was locking the car with the remote.

Il try it when i get home too, but im 99% sure i tried this when the car was in the showroom locked up and the little flappy thing didn't move.
