If it's positive comments you're after, get an XR6T. Other guys want to be you, women want to be with you

The only thing that comes close is if you're the 'Todd'.

Maybe you just live in a bogan area...
2 examples from yesterday -
- Mate drives up in a Shelby, 2 of my other mates jaws drop and one says he needs some "private time"..(very censored way of putting it)
- An XT with an 8/71 peeking out idles past, i give the thumbs up out the window, and my passenger says it's the maddest car he's ever seen.

Both are absolute die hard Holden guys. Would never consider buying a ford.
So i think, its either your driving or area...

Suck it up buttercup. I drive a porsche everyday so abuse from other drivers doesn't worry me too much. You get used to it.

I have never had a bad comment when driving .... seems to be always positive in the coupe, in fact gets way to much attention with everyone at the lights .... nothing in the BA as no one notices .... even drive the EA occasionally and still nothing. Oh, I drive an AU every other day aswell. I must look scarey .......

Copped a bit of abuse for driving my old BA XR on one particular October Sunday that wasn't too memorable for Holden fans it seems.

The other day I was in the 'lane and rolled down the window and complimented a guy on a really nicely restored HQ Statesman. He was a bit taken a back, then said.... yeah yours is in great nick too.

I agree with what Mack said on the first page of this thread. There are some really nicely kept, restored cars of all marques. A real enthusiast will admire it for what it is. Colour is a state of mind...

I do have a thing for the LWB luxo barges though. A shame that Hertz have lost most of their 'lanes now and I am stuck with Statesmans when I rent a group F. Still a nice car and all, but at the very least prefer the ZF 6 speed!

i think me having green p's displayed just draws stupid commodore drivers....thinking because im young im more likely going to say something back to them or try and race them or something, or maybe its just my luck =], either way, the more they do it, the more my respect on p plate commodore drivers drops. (not that there ever was very much to start off with =]. )

I didn't hear much more from them that weekend. Was priceless seeing the looks on their faces

haha why is that any one who drives a vn,vp or vs think there suddenly race drivers i am only on my Ls and have the big yellow ls in the window my mum my dasd sitting in the car and they still pull up next to you and try drag race you i think its shocking happend 3 times already and and its always been someone in one of those holdens

Thought this might cheer the topic starter .What Holden owners(indirectly) think of Fords.Perhaps a little bit insecure here?
I don't like Holden management, marketing and their little cars but I can appreciate their muscle cars -particularly the old school stuff(and yes I owned a few old school Monaro's way back when)- so yea a bet each way-but nothing is ever black and white.

Default Why Are Holden Drivers Angry

its probably their way of compensating for driving a Holden
there's an old saying
GOD CREATED **** WELL HOLDEN PUT WHEELS ON IT
They just haven't got use to losing at Bathurst and the v8 Supercars
maybe they need to purchase a Greg Murphy stress ball with the face of Marcos Ambrose or Jamie Whincup on it, available at all HSV stores or at hsvcrap.com.au
tell em Murph sent ya.........................................http://www.fordforums.com.au/editpos...ost&p=2838678#

Any truth in the rumor that James Cherry(TUESDAYS LOTTO DRAW)
is Garth Tander's love child..now that would be scary...................

The question must be asked. Are you telling us the full story?

Is there anything in particular about you or your vehicle (other than it's a classical Ford coupe) that is attracting so much undesirable attention?

I mean, are you driving like a hoon?

Or does your car have a sticker(s) that incites people to give you the middle fingered salute?

Yes he is telling the truth ,Adelaide is full of f--kwit bogans who have to tell you what they think ,especially when there is 4 of them in a car and a stubby
And that is exactly how you treat them because there are also plenty of people who have an old car in the shed who appreciate what you have and say nothing or give you a thumbs up

When I owned my Cortina I never got abused by Holden drivers. Although I love Holdens I just don't see the point in abusing other peoples' choice of car.

I've often worn my HRT Shirt/Jacket to car shows while looking at old Falcons, Mustangs, Escorts etc.

If I had the funds I would love a XC coupe, or something. To be honest I haven't seen any "real" abuse from either side. Sure there's the odd dig, but nothing serious. Maybe some of you guys are just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Funnily enough, when I was living in Ipswich, which IMO is the VK-VS capital of QLD. I never got insults from them, I did get a lot of jaw-dropped stares. Maybe it was because a Ford V8 sounds so much better than a Fart cannon equipped Holden V6, I don't know.

There was a lot of Ford fans too, they seemed a tad more mild mannered and were always giving a thumbs up or a nod.

I agree with complimenting a person for having a nice car, holden or not. Doesn't mean id buy one but I know how it feels to get a compliment. Especially from someone on the red team. It's just all about appreciating nice cars.

I have thought about this a bit over time as I used to be a Holden man in my much younger years but as I matured I saw things a little differently.
So, the only thing I can think of is a very simple theory and it goes something like this.......

THEIR BALLS HAVEN"T DROPPED YET!

As for some Holden drivers, their underpants will continue to remain baggy and empty until one day "HOLY BOLLOCKS BATMAN! GET A LOAD OF THESE!". At that point, on that very day, they take a giant leap and go buy themselves of new Ford.

How do I know this you may ask? Personal experience people. Personal experience.

_2: :hihi:

Honestly. Who cares? Just enjoy your ride my friend. Enjoy.
