If this thing gets much more coverage then I can see the council/government running a static safety line down every footpath in Australia and we'll have to tether ourselves to it with a slider just to go down the shop for a carton of milk.

Pfft..you've got to be joking yeah.
Spending money on vehicles etc. is a constructive past time and can be educational, what benefit does a 'Planker' get from posing like this.

Some people are brainless wannabe's who undertake irresponsible behaviour in order to be noticed or accepted by their peers as they have nothing else to offer.
Someone posted earlier that the loss of life from planking was sad...dying of a terrible disease is sad.
The only thing upsetting about some clown dying from planking on a 7th floor balcony is the poor bugger thats gotta scrape them up afterwards and the distraught family who gets the door knock.

Plankers are wa**ers.

It's not even mildly amusing. As mentioned in previous posts, one planker died today as well in Brisbane.

Planking is bad...
Drugs are bad...
Alcohol is bad...
Driving cars is bad...
Having fun is bad...
Puppies are bad...
Scratching my *** is bad...
Posting on a forum is bad...

hmmm yes society is doomed once again, until tomorrow when the next news story is posted on here and we all jump back up on our soapboxes to re-assure ourselves that ranting on an internet forum makes us good people.

I'm getting a real good laugh at people getting really angry at this. I seriously cannot believe how boring people's lives can be.

My thoughts too.
Why are people getting so worked up over this? Not saying I can see the point of it, other than a 'wtf look were he is haha' moment.
Just because I havn't done something or agree with something, doesn't make me angry. That's why I have my own interest and hobbies.

The point some people are making about doing up cars is a waste of time and money I think is apt. If I said to some old bloke in a yaris I just spent $10k on making my engine stronger he'd think I was an idiot. Yet I think to myself playing lawn bowls all week is a boring as hell. Different choices.

Anyway I'm carrying on, I think we should all just chill out and let what is be.

I dont think the people "against" it really care, its the issue were feeble minded people try and out do each other in greatness that is just silly...cars, play equipment, etc I dont think anyone cares about..cops cars, buildings, 7 stories up...thats the issue. And as mentioned, someone had to scrape that kid off the ground because he thought it was doing something cool...

We should not be protecting these people, stupid is as stupid does, but there are alot of people that would have never heard of planking if it wasnt for the media making a circus out of it.

In lighter news, not a bad wagon to be taken away in I guess, pretty pimp for what is basically a hearse!

Planking can only be a good thing. It is a way to have more contenders for the 'Darwin awards'. Whatever smartens up the gene pool can only be good.

Personally, I don't get planking. I guess whoever started this just had way too much time on their hands + alcohol = heeeey, let's just lay all over the place and take pics then post it online.

Some are interesting but nothing I'd follow or do. There's always the next idiot who'll take it too far and lay on train tracks or in front of cars or on a highway just for the shot. Or off a balcony. So sad.

What empty, empty, dull, moronic lives some people lead. It's not much different to idiots who need to keep you updated on every coffee they have each day on Facebook.

I remember as a kid growing up we'd go outside and kick a footy, chuck a ball or play some type of sport.
Planking, or lying down, in my mind is not funny and is bordering on pathetic.
Although I plank most nights with my eyes closed. Oh hang on thats sleeping.
