I think Caddyshack saw the end to those and anything shaped like that.

Yes they were a favourite of mine, you will be in luck with Polly Waffles as they were to be scheduled for a come back but apparently was delayed due to covid so hopefully sometime this year we should see them again.

Portello soft drink.
I know you can still get it but it used to be in every decent shop's fridge. Less common these days, especially in the suburbs. I see people talking about milk bars etc. I grew up in the 80's when they were at their zenith and were usually located next to a fish n chip shop. Now most of them have gone and have been replaced with medical clinics. Generally anything that tastes so good is no good for you - guilty as charged. And if I wasn't loitering around a milk bar I was chasing a Mr Whippy van. |

Turning the TV on waiting, and then having the screen slowly grow from the middle as the vacuum tubes warm up.

Probably not a common one for some folks, but wished they still make it rather than the rubbish flavours they randomly bring out.

condoms are they still a thing or is it freedom these days, Iam too old to even think about those issues. And, no doubt if I did the girls at my local chemist would laugh & joke 'what are getting those for Tony, memorial day or something". If only they would help me

Home milk deliveries in glass bottles with foil lids, The Crystal drinks truck delivering soft drink, Letchfords soft drinks and Leeds lemonade.
From memory there were a few soft drink companies that delivered drinks one was called Pop, Crystal and a few others. I can remember that SOLO was sold in every state except Perth we got Pinto, I remember the ad being the same jingle but he was the Pinto man, then they changed it to SOLO |

When my grandma moved from the country to the city in the late 80s she would get home delivered soft drinks in crates. This went on until the early 90s. I wonder what happened to those businesses.

I remember the milk man. When i was a kid the milk man drove a datsun homer. He really disliked the neighbors dog as it always got out. He did run over the dog, but well into the nature strip, not on the road.
