now have 4 newish silver dash spears (xr ones)
rear power windows now wired up properly and working from the 4 way switch

progress might slow down as im moving out with a mate in 2 weeks so ill probably become pretty tight lol...
cluster, ICC, Gear Stick and seats are still on the list...

ICC
i have found this product that im going to wire up to a cheap ebay touch screen in the factory location... its rrp is only $399aus

its pretty much the ipod user interface that in the $1500 dvd players with remote... which will work perfectly with my current alpine head unit (just as a receiver) i love my current headunit and dont want to lose its feature or the solid volume knob if i brought a all in one touch screen unit... so i hope this things as good as i read it is...

http://www.alpine-asia.com/index.php...267&Itemid=601
its in these brochures... just search KCE-425i

Great job, Cam! Really impressed. I've seen a lot of criticism about the B-series interior but I like it and wish I had the outside of my AU Fairlane with the interior of a B-series Ghia and the six speed auto.

it still has the AU cluster...

Todays Efforts...

- BA Passenger Airbag Wired up and Working, i just connected the AU loom to one side of the BA airbag and the airbag light on the cluster works normally (turns on for about 5 seconds when cars turned on then turns off)
- Fog Lights Conected to Foglight Switch
- Heater Control Wiring Looms ran a different way behind the dash so they actually reach the fan controls... still havent got the heater cable in... its a ...

i have my AU momo steering wheel up for sale to fund my BA steering Column... looking at this steering wheel

i am in the process of re sanding and smoothing the icc, cup holder, dash spears and gear surround i'm going to see what a mat black finish looks like... i think it'll look alot cleaner and more factory...

Now for a few questions

AU Fairmont Heater Box...???

Whats different about it compared to a AU forte... is the whole unit different or is it a AU forte box with some motors and solenoids...?, id like to know as im wondering how much of the BA ICC Faceplate (high or low series) could work with the AU Fairmont Climate Controls...

Have picked up a BA XT Cluster... have pulled the AU and BA unit apart... no real results... i am pretty much just slowly wrecking my AU cluster lol... anyone have a spare EF cluster laying around... resons being... i have heard of somone using a AU XR cluster in a EF/EL and the EF /EL clusters are a better shape than the AU... so i might be able to make a EL cluster look like a BA cluster and use that...?

no worries, thanks for the link anyway i'll keep a look out. back in 2006-7 there was a release of the same style wheel for the territory, and they were going for $150.. i knew i should have bought one 'just in case'. ah well

got a BA steering column... pretty much not going to work... none of it lol... everything is in different positions, on different angles so all iv got out of it at them moment is i have switched the AU indicator and wiper stalks for the BA ones and have wired up the headlights to the ba switch on the indicator... the stalks are about 5mm from hitting the steeringwheel so i hope fitting the ba steering wheel and airbag will improve that a bit

Pics

AU unit with BA indicator stalk

Wiring Head Light switch (have now soldered and heat shrinked...)

Fitted, Tested all working ... i did set the wipers of about 10 time trying to reverse out the driveway lol

For some reason it has a bit of a commodore-ish look about it. Not sure why or which model (late model VX+). But i like it, and think you doing a great job, thinking outside the square, and doing something different
