That really depends on what you expect from a car A RWD car in general is a better balanced configuration but FWD is cheaper to manufacture. Ultimately a RWD is superior to a skilled driver a FWD will always be a compromise all other things being equal

So the Toyota Aurion is faster in a straight line than the Ford G6E, At least the Ford G6E TURBO is faster than the Aurion Turbo... Oh hang on i'm forgetting something here.
Really does it matter to anyone who actually owns one or would consider buying one, I doubt it. |

Falcon's and Aurions tend to be treated differently, i know a few oldies that look after their falcons and never have dramas with them. I'd like to see an Aurion put up with the kind of punishment i put my falcon through |

I have had an Aurion as a compnay car, and they are quick. The engine is sweet and has a lovely rumble down low. The only reason I prefer both the Falcon and Commodore is their better implemented DSC/ESP. If had to pick an Aurion, it would be either SX6 or ZR6, if only they could get their VSC right. |

i had an aurion as a company vehicle for a few months and i've also driven a few nat atmo fg's (had an FG XR6 non-turb for a week).
from a standing start, i would suggest it would be level - if any car came out in front it would be down the driver (the aurion driver would need to be more skilled and know his / her car...they do torque steer and traction can be an issue). throw a few corners into the mix and the aurion - in at-x form - is, frankly, dangerous to punt hard through corners. you can be smooth with it, but smooth = slow. i liked the aurion but wouldn't buy one. two reasons; a) the seats were uncomfortable on long trips b) i know it's the age old arguement but FWD really does hamper an otherwise excellent package

MPS's are not the best handling FWD, I could think of many that will wipe the floor with you on a tight twisting track. 13.6, 1800 kg Falcons do not steer as well as some of the FWD weapons out there. I should know, I have a 13.3 typhoon and a sporty FWD and I would take the FWD on a mountain road any day of the week.

Anywhoo, I'd put a 1999 DC2 Integra Type R against a Falcon in the twisties any day and I'd put money on it too. |

Strange, I thought the discussion was about stock cars. Spend equivalent money on the driveline of the Mazda and it would probably still lunch a big barge of a falcon in the twisty stuff.
