are you changing to a cable accellerator from the linkage setup?
broken engine mounts + linkages = bad lol. I had that happen in an xb sedan i had, floored it, mount snapped, engine twisted, linkages jammed the throttle on full... car stopped when it hit my wife's old XC sedan, which in turn rolled into the bessablock garage at the house we were renting.
2 damaged cars and a cracked wall in the garage = linkages removed and cable fitted

anyhoo, cars looking good, the engines goin to look nuts in there ;) (once its painted lol)

Holy crap Monty are you serious?? I was planning on keeping the old school linkage and getting it chromed. Linkage = no cable snaps or stretching.... but your story might convince me otherwise.

I guess you have to go backwards to go forwards sometimes. My car is looking more and more getto each day. Panel beating starts tomorrow on the engine bay.

Engine Bay is all ready for paint, will be done this upcoming weekend. The Dash is coming along nicely, just need to cut a hole for the CD player, bog the corners, put in the switches and lights and paint.

Cheaper alternative to changing the linkages is to put a bolt with a nyloc nut through the passenger side engine mount. If the rubber goes, the engine wont go anywhere as the bolt will hold it in place. JAT

Nice coupe BlueKoop, I loved it ever since I seen it at Wagga last year, caint wait to see it when it's all done, I was planning on doing the same dash set up as yours and had come across a some what unique set up which incorporate the somewhat factory look with auto meter guages.
A few years away yet before it gets installed but thought you might like to see. :evil3:

Cheers mate, you know the deal with cars, take the amount of time and money you think it will cost, then double it, then add a week.

Sometimes its more like triple and add a month if not more.

I dont bother with a budget as its never right, I say if it needs doing it gets done. Im not going to put something cheap on or overlook it just because of the price.

that dash looks really good mate!!!
have you checked too see if you can see all the gauges when driving?
dont meen to be harsh, but i can see you having a bit of difculty seeing the water temp gauge that's all....
like the idea of the custom dash though, it'l look AWSOME when it's done!
i also like the style of gauges you have gone for, they look modern but with a classic sort of style...
