If you hang around & post enough, you start to learn which user names know what they are talking about, which one just love Ford & like to comment & which ones are better off posting at LS1!!

I have been here a while and I have heard a fair bit of ******** from FOA employees including pseudo managers, designers, production line employees and recently sacked employees on this (and other) forums. It's all ******** unless the person in question is prepared to bare it all here and now, with no sour grapes. We all know how marketing works, how powerful it is and why this forum is here. Please PM me if I am on another tangent, but I doubt it. .

This cryptic posting by those supposed to be in the know is irritating. If you have something to say about the new car, say it. Otherwise, keep your traps shut and don't say anything at all.

Never happy. There are people in the know who try to give away as much as they can without putting their jobs on the line and people whinge that they won't tell all. Good on you guys for giving us hope and a glimpse of what could be in the pipeline. Be buggered if I'd put my livelihood on the line for a bunch of ******* in an internet forum either. Keep up the good work.

The ppl in the know help steer people so they have knowledge as opposed to the rubbish spouted by the 'experts' who have no idea but need to put in their 2c as somehow they have psychic powers to know what will happen.

Is anyone able to post a screen shot of the video showing the Falcon?
If it is a new top hat, it will have years left in it - funny that Ford does this the day after Holden locks in their new production models which may not include Commodore, perhaps Ford has been very strategic waiting for Holden to show their hand. |

Interesting that Ford were able to save 100 redundancies by moving personnel into product development...........

Thanks, interesting article too. It does look a bit Mustangish, and it appears that the mirrors are mounted on the upper tumblehome of the doors rather than on the A pillar. |

New top hat to me would mean new doors and roof, if its still limited to front/back IMO its more likely an MCE ala ED/EF and AU3/BA. VF Commodore would be the same.

quote from carpoint
"However, clearly evident in the video are a new bonnet, headlights, front quarter guards, bumper and grille, supporting news from motoring.com.au sources that the FG Falcon’s midlife makeover will bring all-new front- and rear-end styling, plus a redesigned interior - like next year's face lifted VF Commodore." do i need to be in a "inverted position with a 60 degree viewing angle" to see this??? all i can make out is the flaming side mirror. |

Na, I don't think that's going to happen. But since everyone else is pulling out of their a*se what a few blurred shots means I might as well have a chop too. What it hopefully means is Ford are spending money on Falcon cause they've found a way to live with it in the line up even with reducing numbers. Last edited by The Snout; 19-10-2012 at 02:48 PM. |

The door frames are the expensive bit, and there's still a separate roof panel IIRC |

I really dont see what all the fuss and debate is about.
Good on Ford for a great piece of promotion - a great way to reassure people the Falcon will be around for a while yet. But it hasn't told us anything we didn't already know. A new top hat?? Not a chance in hell! Think ED - EF, AU - BA. Its the same generation so the doors and roofline will be the same, with a new front and rear end. We've had 6 generations of Falcons over 50 years that have followed an identical progression, why would it change now? No doubt its going to be a major update, more than just a facelift. And no doubt it will run for a lot more than 2 years. Oh and I'm not in the employee club, just all IMO... |

Ok ENOUGH.
There are members on here who actually know all about and have seen the 2014 Falcon clays and later. Admin knows who is real and who is not. Just take the crumbs you are being given with good grace and look forward to 2014. Some of the posting on here is becoming rather argumentative and personal. This is the path to a holiday. If you want to keep posting then keep it civil, not personal and on topic. |

What we do know is that the 2014 will be more than just a basic make over and maybe,
just maybe brand new styling will transform the cars looks enough to be love at first sight.. I haven't heard Ford people so excited about the look of a Falcon in many years, most recent designs seen for the first time take a while to sink in, whisper is that the next car is one that gets you right away.. |

A new tophat would really throw the cat amongst the pigeons. I just hope they take the opportunity to play with the formula a little. If Falcon is to continue in one body configuration I hope it's a hatch rather than a sedan. It needs more flexibility to win back retail buyers in this changing market.
Maybe Falcon will go retro!
