1st - BA/BF
2nd - EL 3rd - AU The B Series made the XR popular with not only ford fans, but converted many people from other brands to Ford fans, not only does it look great it performs extreamly well. Unless Orion is a jaw dropping Stunner, i will never be Selling my BA XR8. |

I reckon BA, then EL
Not a fan of what they've done with the BF though, the look too rounded and not as tough. Same as the FPV's. |

EL by a mile, late AU's looked ok, but IMO the BA looked soft and timid except the 8 with its killer buldge !!

I think that AU2 shits all over the rest of the field, but EL's did look very agressive.
The BA/BF just look too similar to the XT's for my liking... Ford got it right with the GT kits, but the XR kits are too bland... |

I dont think B series XRs look anything like XTs. And everyone knows that B-series got some of their body parts from AUs but it doesnt mean they look anything like AUs and they DONT!
I like AU XRs as a second choice, I always loved the round headlights! But I would have only had an XR8 really. I wasnt interested in AU XR6s. However, the BA 6 is different again (performance wise). Too many nice Fords really.

I have a black AU II XR8 220 and a BA V8 Ghia ( for the mrs ) and the AU is hands down a better car to drive. Before I bought the AU, I had the opportunity to get a white BA XR8 for the same dollars and after driving both it was a no brainer, the only thing the AU lacks compared to the BA is a bit of poke and of course the bulge. I would agree with previous comments about B series XR's looking too similar to the standard car in a general sense.
A few days after i bought my AU II while driving through macca's drive through the girl in the booth said "whoa...what a cool car !" which i thought was pretty cool considering it is an "ugly duckling AU" . I was surprised to say the least, they are the kinds of comments i would only ever get in my old XB GT coupe. AUII XR8 in black and lowered is perfection

Xrchic,
From a side on view, (of course the front and back doesn't look like an AU), but the roof line and doors stand out something shocking like an AU. I mean its not cause I have and prefer the EL's that i don't think it looks like an EF... I don't mind the look of the BA's, but if you excluded the XR8 bulge, they're a bland looking car. Clean and neat but definately not tough. From a looks perspective i'd hate to own an XR6T (which i was going to), as a stocko XR6 N/A looks the same. Good for a sleeper, not much else. |

I vote EL though. They just looked tough. The aggressiveness of the quad headlight front, and the bonnet vents really looked the part. It looks even better if it has the Tickford bodykit

Saw a TL50 today. They look tops. (wasn't a T3, that would've been a special sight).

I don't know why people can't tell the difference between an xt and xr. I have never seen a xt or futura and thought " look at that xr6t". People must have eye problems because the have different headlights, side skirts, front bumper and Grill, spoiler, alloy wheels, the badges lol and with the xr8 it has the buldge. Maybe it's a credit to how good looking the xt is to be mixed up by people for an xr. I don't care what anyone says about the B series. It saved ford and Id rather a car people mix up then a car that is percieved as ugly.
Spot the difference. Bf xr8 Bf xr6t Bf xt

BA/BF XR's look the best not sure how they are not "differentiated enough" though I don't mind the like the look of the AU XR fronts too. One of the reasons I have preferred sports Falcons over sports Commodores is because I cant tell the Commodores apart from an Exec whereas the Falcons have always had the signature headlights...

Sorry mate, but your just proving our point there... Look at the front bars between the 2... They look identical, but the XR has the driving lights... As for the headlights. Come on man, no one can be that blind! The XR front end on AU and EF/EL's is COMPLETELY different from the standard ones, and that's how it should be. Ford is spending too much time copying Holdung IMO.... |
