They dont want to do the RHD engineering and compliance work on a end of model lifecycle car which makes sense

Given the hellcat and Jeep SRT are similar prices in US would expect similar pricing here in Aus

So pretty sure in the fullness of time we have a good chance of seeing them but at least 3-5 years would be my guess

BTW they are now doing an AWD version of the V6 so imagine an AWD Demon ??? would help with the traction issues
I can't wait 3-5 years dam it...

Brace yourself! The latest instalment lasts a whopping 15 seconds!

Challenger SRT Demon’s super cooled air induction system:

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the first-ever, factory production car with a liquid-to-air charge air cooler chiller system. This exclusive performance feature enables the Challenger SRT Demon to achieve charge air induction temperatures previously unattainable by pressure-charged street-legal production vehicles.

Conventional cooling methods consist of simply using air or coolant to reduce the air induction temperature as it is passed through the charge air cooler. When in Drag Mode, the Challenger SRT Demon interior air conditioning system is diverted to chill the engine’s charge air cooling system.

The result:
Up to 45 degree Fahrenheit reduction in intake air temperature

I can smell Methanol!

Depends on ones marital status and how deep their pockets are

I suspect it will be like the Hellcat and have different power modes - red/black key etc.

In cruise mode the Hellcat could get upwards of 20 miles-per-gallon, and under full noise the tank could empty in about 13 minutes.

Probably won't like pot-holes or speed bumps, and will protest in heavy traffic.

Not long now, only a couple of videos to go!

''The Challenger SRT Demon is the first ever, factory production car designed to run on either track-preferred 100+ high-octane unleaded fuel or 91-octane unleaded fuel on demand. The track preferred high-octane fuel is readily available at select gas stations, specialty shops and drag strips. The keys to unleashing the SRT Demon’s full fury are in the Demon Crate shipped separate: Direct Connection Performance parts that include a new powertrain control module (PCM) calibrated for the high-octane fuel and a new switch bank for the center stack that includes a high octane button. The SRT Demon leaves the factory with a PCM configured for premium unleaded pump gasoline, which delivers top level performance. The switch to the Direct Connection controller enables the supercharged HEMI engine to extract the maximum power from the knock-resistant high-octane fuel by optimizing spark timing. Drag racers will see big changes in elapsed time (ET) with the high-octane fuel. Mixing high-octane unleaded and premium unleaded fuels in the tank won’t hurt the SRT Demon’s engine, but the high-octane function won’t activate if the combined fuel octane is too low. A message in the gauge display tells the driver the car will use the premium fuel calibration until the engine is shut off and restarted. How does the car know? The controller monitors the engine’s knock sensors. There will be plenty of fuel available: The SRT Demon carries dual fuel pumps (vs. one pump in the Challenger SRT Hellcat), and larger fuel injectors using higher rail pressure.''

^ I think that's it, be cool in black or yellow/black.

A plethora of numbers getting thrown around in regards to hp and 1/4 times - I won't even bother with that as we will know all the details in a little under 2 days.

Leaked HP figures....

Power mode 1: 757hp
Power mode 2: 815hp
Power mode 3: 1023hp

*Mode 3 requires the following:
1. Race Fuel: 100 octane or better
2. Crate PCM (crate purchased separately from the car for approximately $3,000)
3. Drag Mode Initiated, allowing higher RPM and broader power delivery in this drag mode...

Yep! That's the one that seems to be getting the most 'traction' - all those numbers have been seen in various forms throughout the video teasers - some could be torque or production numbers etc.

I'm also hearing in full drag-mode 0-100 in under 3 seconds and 1/4 mile time is 9.5

Will come close to that I think (high 9's), if you consider what the announcer says at the end of the last video '' You will always remember our name, and what we did here today'' Sounds to me like they've broke some record.

I any case it should be a mid to low 10 second car from factory, that should be under 100k and weight 2 ton.

I'm hoping it starts a massive horsepower war like the old days.

This is a screen-grab from the recent teaser, it appears twice for about 0.000034 seconds.

It's taken at around launch. Notice the angle of the tarmac compared where the chassis seems to be pointing.

Wonder how the "street" part of its character is; how it is to live with each day.
I like the idea of big horsepower cars but from the info supplied thus far (admittedly very limited) it seems to be a comprised car.
I'll definitelty be watching youtube videos of it, but if it were my $$ being laid out, I'd likely rather a "standard" SRT or even a GT350.

I wouldn't bother applying to much logic to this car, its a "just because I can" kind of arrangement I think.

Is that time in street legal trim, or is it with the 100 octane tune and optional ECU that isn't street legal?

I'm not sure atm, I doubt it was street legal - I don't know their rules amongst different states. Still waiting on more info to come out. Hard to make out whats legit and whats not with all the haters and trolls.

One reliable source now reveals he was part of the Dodge testing team at the track. They had 5 Demons there. For 2 days they hammered them into the ground doing non-stop burnouts and 1/4 runs, and he said 9.90 consistently - that's in street mode I assume.

Comes in 14 colours and Pitch Black is one of them )
