This is looking GREAT...

And is exactly what I was anticipating when I begun this whole 'World Cup' idea...

I didn't think it was going to be as easy as 'Phase 3' is the winner...

Looks like it might just come down to the wire!

Great response guys!!!

XA GT Coupe Vs XY GT HO Phase III.: XA GT Coupe

The phase III has all the credibility and reputation but the Coupe just looks so hot. I saw an all Black one (Grill) with chrome finished mag wheels that filled all the guards, the car looked magic - even today a GT like that can pull heads. The Phase III as great as it is loses out as it (looks wise) is too close the the cooking models whereas the Coupes are genuinely rare.

you have to wonder if the mighty XY will get knocked off it perch just plainly due to the average age of members , and due to the cult status of the xy very few people can afford to own one these days, and therefore know why they have been reveered.

XA GT Coupe Vs XY GT HO Phase III:

XA GT Coupe
  • Because it's the underdog of this fight!
  • The XA GT Coupe (esp RPO83) is one of the best looking aussie muscle cars of all time.
  • The XY PH3 has been done to death. I'm in the generation (20s) where it doesn't really mean that much to me at all.
  • Because the XY PH3 was shown up (humiliated) on TGA by the FG XT around the track by a significant margin. I believe they shouldn't have put it on the track or posted its time to leave some of the mystery/magic (at least for me).

Not really sure why it would be the underdog, since no judging criteria was ever put forward. If choice was based on looks alone ,then IMO, the XY is certainly the underdog

Thats the beauty of the vote ZDCol71... there is no criteria that would even really be fair...
different levels of expertice in this forum ranging from owners and restorers, to enthusiasts, to know-it-alls...
So the only criteria is what 'you' think is 'best'.... perceive it however you like... just gotta pick one...

And as said previously... if we re-did this again in 12 months, with different initial match-ups... i'm sure the results would vary greatly...

but we're talking about here and know with the cars matched up the way they are...

its just a bit of fun... an opinion poll if you like...

to be fair - i thought it would be close... but not this close

there has been more votes on this one than the previous rounds, so will be interesting by tomorrow arvo where it is at... and who the champion is!!!

If you've driven one... they still do have the magic...
