I suspect those two a couple of years out, so just the lead time Ranger needs. Whole package is important here, more than just the V6 engine, JMO, the smoothness of a premium SUV, Ford discovers the secret sauce for a seriously quiet interior, blow people’s minds…. |

Guys and Ladies
BENT_8 has been smacked for his previous indiscretions about bagging Ford and I have to admit, unlike some others I've dealt with over time, he took it on the chin and accepted it. I think he has since curbed that posting style, however, he still allowed to voice his opinion in a fair and reasonable manner. Once again I ask everyone to allow the mods to moderate the forum. At the end of the day, we want everyone to log and enjoy the experience. |

Slightly off topic, I’ll be interested to see if there’s a touch more hip and shoulder room, I think that’s deserved when you see how big the Maverick is against the previous yank Ranger. Last edited by jpd80; 11-09-2021 at 09:39 PM. |

This.. would love an EB ranger but fear it’ll be only offered in raptor (if it’s offered at all). Hope the TD6 is at least offered in xlt as a compromise as I fear a 10k price hike across the range and that’ll probably put Raptor/wildtrak out of reach for me.

I remember the first time I played around on Ford US's configurator for F-150's and was staggered how much more they charged for the 3.0L diesel over the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost and 5.0L V8 engine options. V8 was under $1000 extra and 3.5V6L Ecoboost was about $1500 more while diesel was nearly $5K more.

Wonder if this new model will finally have adjustable reach steering like the 1988 EA Falcon had.

zero to encourage sales, all it was really was an mpg competition between Ford and Ram but when GM brought the Silvero 3.0 I-6 diesel, Ford seemed to lose any interest in the 3.0 PS. It was less about customers and more about bragging rights for class leading fuel economy. Now if Ford wanted F150 to have more global appeal, it and Expedition would have the 4.4 V8TD. The basic shape of the tail lights looks very similar as well.

Thanks for chiming in with that. For a second there I was thinking perhaps the new Ranger was going to be a little less new than expected.

I've had a bugger of a week and had to read your post 5 times. Each time thinking what on earth is Boss talking about with a pillar being shallower....then the last 5 brain cells kicked in when my arm slipped off the office chair arm rest...I realised you meant the A-pillar of the windscreen...

Raptor guards front and rear, widen the hip line of the doors to blend, a few new creases in the tailgate, some subtle cosmetic additions/alterations, the American front end all differentiated by the engine code.

What month do you think Ford will come out with more info on the new ranger. Is that something you think they will announce the specs this year?

Hoping sooner rather than later. My dad has a deposit at his local dealer pending this information…. He’s tentatively booked an xlt V6 diesel (if available, pending price and specs) to replace his 2016 Triton. The dealer has no idea when they will know more… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A couple of photos showing the front of the new Ranger getting around on Instagram this evening, very much Baby F Series front end rather than the Maverick sort of styling thankfully, I’m sold, will be making some enquires re an XLT once the power train details are released.
