Yes, I would imagine, unless you use them for work and it has paid for itself probably 100 times over now. I don't rate performance in how fast it goes between traffic lights, just reliability and load capabilities at hwy speeds.

I'll get flamed but it's Porsche for me.

911 in particular.

This is looks only, not their ability.

They just suffered. But it wasn't due to them overrating the Euro cars (subject of this thread) - it was all they originally knew.

Now, replacing a Territory (1st quote) - I see Jag F Pace or RR Velar as the successor for type of vehicle - full time AWD SUV that handles well. Two problems, 1) price is double and 2) reliability is not on par with Barra powered Territory. JLR does some absolutely fantastic looking cars, top marks to stylists inside & out, and yes they have cache and are rated highly, but its what happens after warranty/in depreciation/in reliability that is where they could improve to match the way people rate them.

There isn’t many crossover suv’s that mirror Territorys layout of being rwd biased awd with a north/south engine. Interestingly enough the Explorer is now one of them. But dimensionally it’s a bigger class of vehicle, so not exactly like for like.

But typically the yanks won’t let us have that one

SUVs in general.

Either buy a cool sedan or a big wagon.

The in-between is useless but seems so popular?

I guess all different.

Not to mention how hot the new Explorer, Aviator, Expedition are... Honestly it's almost worth incorporating a business in the States and working over there for a year or two or so just to bring one home!

Closest to Territory I can see is F Pace with 90:10 RWD bias AWD, supercharged petrol V6 is a Ford motor block too I think

Yeah I think it's still the old Ford Duratec V6 block.

My (very wealthy) mate sold his BMW X5 top model to get the top Range Rover.

Reckons worse decision he had ever made.

He then sold the Range Rover in about 6 months (I don't know but I'm guessing a huge loss on resale when he traded back to the BMW newer version)

I think the Golf GTi is a very good hatch.

But agree its "status" is overplayed.

I've got plenty of cars on my ****list but I can't really think of any that are 'overrated' - aside from VW's turds rolled in glitter.

Toybaru 86 comes to mind, ****en nugget car, could have been a modern Silvia/200SX but they decided to put a limp wristed engine in it.

Does my R36 fit your your description? Ok If you think so.

Agree on 86/BRZ - certainly underpowered but I still think a great car for $.

From a perspective of either turning their vans into police cars or repairing customers cars they're a PITFA to work on, parts can be hard to get and $$$$$$.

2003 BA Falcon door lock assembly - genuine fitted $275

2003 VW Polo - $1200 parts only ex Germany.

It would have been great if it got a turbo version.

Looks like Toyota learnt nothing though, cause the next 86 will have an na 2.4 boxer

What a rubbish engine to give it. And it’s not like Toyota don’t know how to do good sport engines. 2jz, 4age etc. Yet they are choosing garbage Subaru boxers.

I suspect mechanically not up to it.

They look cheap to me so if drivetrain is also it then no Turbo.

Plus buyer's are usually young and they are fast enough easily. (and more affordable)
