AU 2 or 3. Any of the range.
For me it's really only for the looks. I don't like the centre pod in the AU1. Not a fan of the S1 XR front. Too rounded. Don't like the grille in the standard falcons. I really think ford had refined the look of the AU when it hit S2 and now it looks 100% better.

IMO the series 1 XR's are fantastic but the II and III model fronts are definately the best
As for bodykit, the series 1 wins by a country mile over the rest
And from owning two series 1's, both galaxy blue, they are a great car, the II and III models are better in some areas, especially brakes but inferior in others, especially carpeting, door seals and a few other things
They are extremely minor though

8/98 S1 XR6 VCT - galaxy blue and just run in and still tight
I bought a series 1 as I don't like the series II or III blue colours as much
Cobalt and galaxy are the best blue's

svr73, i'm pretty sure galaxy came out on series 2's. Also i haven't had a problem with interior fit and finish on my AUII Forte, i'd consider it better finish than the BA, well my dads BA anyways.

Nope was series 1 only colour I believe, if it did make it to series II it was replaced by narooma soon afterwards

Both my galaxy AU's were 8/98 build

Gallaxy Blue was a series I and II colour in the AU range, I have a series II XR in Gallaxy and Cobra on here has a series I in Gallaxy, it was a very popular colour.

That is most likely caused because the bodykit is plastic compared to the car being metal. Painting on these different surfaces is generally the issue. It is really noticeable with the liquid silver car.
