Would be nice to see some flared agressive looking guards and 295 tyres in the back end. Also the addition of an agressive I am coming to get you bonnet scoop on the f6 gt or gs to intimdate.Apart from that they look ok.

I see where you're coming from, but, about 2 months ago a saw a black GS 315 without the stickers, and it had the 335's rims. From the rear you could tell it wasn't an XR6, as it had the quad pipes. Side on you knew it was an FPV thanks to the FPV badge on the flank (plus the GT's rims), and, moving further alongside it there was that bulge. A train-spotter wouldn't mistake for an XR8 because you don't see many XR8's with a debadged skirt. Anyway, to say this car looked amazing is an understatement.

On one hand I think those are right that say there needs to be a little differentiation to it without resorting to stickers, but on the other I tend to agree more with Damo; wgaf with a motor like that!

Man the GT still looks since its release.

I wanna see the GS in a different colour as not sure on that blue. But after seeing SgtBourne's picture it might the sticker pack that is causing the issue. Otherwise still a good value vehicle when your looking at what your getting under the hood.

Anyone get interior photo's of the GS??

The F6/GT dont look much different which is fine with me. GS definately gained more due to the "ford" base vehicle getting a front upgrade...
Still not liking the projector low beam lights though. They may have looked better if they were fitted as the "outside" lights with the high beams being the bigger inside ones.

They do not perform as good as FG1 lights I am told.... Looks over function, and they dont look that good either (projector should have been on the outside/highbeam inside).

The GS is a tough car, its too dear to be an XR8 but too cheap to be an FPV, its feels a bit lost I think, but at the end of the day FG2 improves on FG1, so we should be happy.

You may or may not recall the classic 'snowflake' designed wheel that was introduced on the XE Fairmont Ghia and ESP models, which was carried over on the XF and the EA. There was also a worldwide stock market crash and recovery during that time...sound familiar?

Maybe there just isn't any other wheel that FPV designers feel is more appropriate? If you dont' like the style or any other aspect of the car then change it to your liking. Simple.

nowhere have i said the car is poor value, or not a good package. all i'm saying is from a brand image point of view, it doesn't seem to fit.

as for those saying the GT wouldn't sell if the GS looked similar, does the G6 outsell the G6E?

i'm not looking at it from a buyers point of view. i can't afford to drop 30k on a new car, let alone 60! if those forking out the coin are happy with it then thats fine. i didn't realise FPV were off limits when it came to opinions on their looks etc.

So not a single mechanical change for FG2?

Somebody (I can’t remember who) was saying on the forum the F6 was gonna get some mechanical changes, but I guess that was a pipe dream … what about the pricing is it gona stay the same or go down? FPV was struggling to sell the F6 at 60K drive away, a better touch screen won’t change that.

That Ford XR front design on the GS looks hot.

I still think a one colour bumper would look better

Plus the big touch screen, if this means calling series 2, so be it.
I believe Ford have a great product, the touch screen keeps them in the (sales) game with holden.

Pardon me for saying this, but here is where you're wrong. It's not a Falcon. It's not a Ford. It's an FPV. Sure, FPV is a by-product of Ford itself, but if the 'it's a Ford/Falcon' logic is to be truly applied there would be no need for the FPV brand itself as everything could go back to the way it was pre-FPV where the GT was a Falcon GT, or GS was a Falcon GS. The current models are FPV GT and FPV GS respectively, no where on the vehicle nor the marketing material suggests they are Falcons.

Therefore, the least FPV could do whilst still wanting the GS to seem a cheaper look to the GT is to still at least differentiate it enough from the Falcon XR product so to make it clear what it is and let the joe blows of the world who don't overly think about this sort of thing know what is what.

No one is going to buy a car based on a touch screen. If it didn't sell as a Series 1, it aint going to sell as a series 2, and I don't see any worthwhile improvements in series 2. In-fact I see them going backwards.

They should have taken the MY12 approach, rather than calling it series 2 as Holden has done. Therefore the expectation for it to be some drastic change is reduced.

To be fair I don't recall my series 2 BA being that big a leap over the series 1.

This is a low cost update, which in reality reflects Falcons position in the marketplace and the sales volume it generates. A mild makeover for an ageing car. Styling is subjective, but the headlights seem a step back in effectiveness, if the new Terri's are anything to go by.

Otherwise its about a tweak here or there and a bit more value thrown in. Not a bad thing in itself.

I'm not disappointed by the changes, because I wasn't expecting anything more then a refresh to keep Falcon sales ticking over at there current rate until 2015. Ford haven't given any indication in their press, that they expect to do anything more then hold the line with the current Falcon, until we are told what they plan to do.

I'm guessing from some of the comments, that some members were hoping Ford would make a push with this update to capture bigger sales. I think thats where some frustration with FGII is coming from.

Looking like a rather 'boring' update. They still look decent, but less changes than an ordinary MK2 Falcon.

Nice cars, but disappointing in terms of the 'update'.

That is correct but it thereby begs the question why FPV have based the image of their GT and GS on the history of the Ford Falcon GT/GS of the 70s. If they are wanting to remove the Falcon heritage, why do they constantly keep referring to it?
This could be argued forever, with numerous opinions, but the bottom line is it essentially is a Falcon GT. Or at least it should be.

There is clearly room for a tweak to the F6's PCM to let some more power and torque off the leash and combined with fitting the strengthened ZF gearbox from the SC car is what I would have expected as a minimum, plus projector headlights and touch screen. That FPV have apparently chosen not to do the former shows you how incredibly tight finances are at the moment. $40 million apparently spent on the SC V8 last year and F6 enthusiasts appear to get the short end of the stick. No update to power and torque for an engine that will be 4 years old in March 2012, go figure ? Hand-me-down wheels from GT and no styling changes whatsoever..oh dear...
$3K price cut to the retail, hoiw will that help when they've been struggling to clear out existing stock at $59K drive away ? Highly questionable marketing stratagy IMO.

According to a reliable source the power war will remain dorment for a few years. It's senseless as well as pointless at the moment to give it any increase.
