This debate will go on for centuries.Driving it to the track and if you can drive it home then it should be classified as a street car,tyres is a safety issue so this shouldn't really be considered as a option.
The only thing that gets me is some of these turbo cars that run a 10 or 9 sec pass but yet you still see 12 second cars beating them on a heads up race.

you only see them 12 sec cars beating the 9/10sec cars on the street not the strip. A) transbrake + traction launches only work well on prepped drag strip b) traction after the 60 foot c) most 9/10sec cars have race tunes and street tunes.

Your debate is not in this thread's OP though Hemi, as that debate will go forever till someone makes an official rule what is 'street car classified' which it wont happen lol. This thread is just to see which tuners have BA-FGs that have run 10.99 or faster so people who want to take their cars somewhere, they know that the tuner has done (alot) of RnD on the cars.

might be another to add to the Autotech list in the next couple months, Northmead Auto Centre is putting a turbo on their FG XR6 ute, Autotech will be tuning, it has a built 4-speed auto, the Precision PT6466 was ordered from Spiro @ DLM today, build will be starting the next couple weeks. plan is for about 900hp

ok kool, thanks, so WSID has the 10.0 cutoff now with the newer cars for cages etc? wasn't 100% sure if that rule was definitely in, one of the officials told a mate n he told me

No Paulie, 11.00 is still the cut off, these times were run at the test n tune meet.

Not sure if they are leanient or that they are under the assumption that everyone is doing the right thing, cars are doing 5 and 6 sec passes so a 10 is no big deal.

I'ts also easier to fudge your entry form when you pre pay for the event as you don't go through srcutineering.

maybe being lenient, they usually don't care if it's a 5-sec car or 10-sec they enforce them the same.

Willowbank n Perth have the 10.0, WSID may be a bit more lax on it also, i'd say up until u run 140mph and the chute is required, then they would be all over you.

No WSID have been kicking out a few in the last couple of weeks so they have not adopted that rule change, I wish they did cause there are a few of us that have dipped into the 10's that are trying to get that little bit more out of their cars.

So should nitrous be allowed ? Throwing 150 shot on a na xr8 surely isn't going to point people in the direction of a tuning company who can build an 11 second na car , if that makes sense ?

I do think tyres matter , as they are a safety requirement IMO , but nitrous should be noted
