I take the Fairmount Ghia for it's a short wheel base so it would be easy to find street parking & more fun to drive on bendy roads.

Wow this is an old topic (2/05?)...

EL Fairmont. The Falcon is a big family car already, it's got plenty of space in the back (headroom and shoulder room the same between the two), and the front seats are the same, less minor trim I suppose. I'd probably choose the NL if I transported people around all day every day (ie a taxi), where even more passenger comfort is a priority. But for the moment, it's either a sedan or wagon, no `stretched sedan'.

Quote:
nothing like cruising along the freeway and taking down a few skyline GT-Rs in something weighing damn near 2000kg!

and the extra space in the back isnt just legroom
a) lol come on dude. The GT-R is pretty heavy for a sportscar (1,500kg?), but 2,000kg is really too heavy to throw around, unless you enjoy racing SUVs
b) If I knew you well enough, I could make a joke about `larger women'. But I don't, so I'll just say that the space in the back is quite sufficient already for that purpose (& the wagon has more rear headroom + ability to fold down seats!) ;)

NL + 5.0L + Vortech = :

Embarrasing sports cars in a near-limo.... sounds like fun to me

Fairlane. People will think you're loaded. Plus you can fit more people in a Fairlane.

EL Ghia all the way for the following reasons
A. Fairmont Ghia's got the Tickford 6 and 3.45 LSD (only the six by the way)
B. Fairmont Ghia's got the premium sound system Fairlane did not only LTD
C. Fairmont handles so much better
D. Fairmont is a fair bit quicker especially 6 for 6

My Parents actually have an EFII Ghia and a DL LTD. Mums EFII is a 6 and Dad's LTD a 5ltr. When Dad first got the LTD i was thrilled i thought this was what i wanted to borrow most of the time. But after a while i started to get annoyed with the ill handling and and less performance than Mums Ghia. So back to the fairmont i went. I still like cruising in the LTD but only because its an LTD and it sounds good with the V8 burbling away.

So yeah i've chosen an EFII Ghia over a DL LTD, so the fairlane doesn't have a chance to me.

NATURALLY THE NL. It's awfully fiddly converting a stock EL body to LWB!

i believe that a modified NL would stand out more than a modded EL. thats if the same amount of money is spent. the NL, fully pimped would be riding in style.... GO THE LWB
