You get your car seized because of the photo's of "you" doing burnouts. While they have your car "you" get some more speeding fines. Wouldn't that make for a great day in court?

Cold day in hell if they try and take my car for anything i didn't do, im only small but there would be a darn struggle from this little terrior that's for sure.

this guy is having a party on my plates, and it's about to stop, i am just trying to confirm but i am sure there is only ever 1 space in a SA plate ( i have never seen 2 ), if so this guy is a lot more trouble than a few speeding fines ( that i know of so far ), changing a plate's look and running a muck is i am sure a big no, no.

The pic i have here shows a front mounted telephone areial in the centre front above the windscreen ( that would leave a hole if removed I'm sure )

Think a chat to the boss man tomorrow should set the hunt on the right track as i will post him the NT pics and link them both up . SA / NT police and then i think the fun will be on for this guy.

It sounds as though you won't even need to go to court, and rightly so - you're innocent.

If it were me however, I'd love to take it to court. Take all of the evidence you have along with you and after showing the judge the proof (emails / aerial etc) that it wasn't your car, there would certainly be reasonable doubt that you're innocent. If the cops said that it may have been somebody else sending the emails as Rollin' suggested, the speeding fine from the NT should seal a good result for you.

I'd do it just to see the look on the cops face! Fu*king revenue raisers.

The latest update, after ringing the NT police today, is they are also now on this guys case, and emails have been sent to them with pics of my car and the details of the SA fine as well. The NT guys are really good to deal with and very helpful.

The SA guys tell me today it will take another 2 days to even confirm if they recieved my email ? slack but they make the rules, and i have now sent the NT details to the SA police.

I still can not work out that it would take the SA guys to spot the white lettering / black lettering mixup but they must i suppose do thier job but how hard can that be ?

Also the fact there are 2 gaps in the lettering on the plate must tell them they are on the wrong track, but i did find out today when they type in a rego they leave no gaps at all and this is how they ended up with me and my plates.

Also in SA if you request a photo, all holds are put on the notice until it is resolved at which point the fine is re submitted if need be, so here if you need some time request the pic and if they work as fast as what they are doing here you will have extra weeks up your sleeve and may be why other states are now sending them out.

More Thursday and no fines today in the mail so a good day.

this is the reason why they should pull you over immediatly if you are caught speeding...

I'd wish you luck doc, but I think in the face of that much evidence even the most dim civil servant could see you're innocent.

What a load of crap DOC, i hope they catch this culprit for you, not fair to see you troubled with someone else's problems.

Speed limits in the city are ridiculous anyway, as to what you said in your first post.

Goodluck, you won't need it though.

Blue and white plates would have been my good self, wasn't speeding was i ? ( no reply needed if so )

the latest is all fines are on hold pending thier outcome and waiting to hear back from them.

All i can say is get the Pic if done in SA, had i just accepted them i would be up for over $400 odd bills and probably 6 - 9 points.

i heard on the news that somthing like 2/3 of traffic photos wouldnt hold up in court because of the picture.....the cameras are meant to be calibrated every day......lol

"We have found our boy" Came the sweet words from a lovely NT police officer this morning, and it turns out it was a western australian on a ride around a few states that was a bit trigger happy.

She did mention that she called the SA counterparts but was told tha they don't take calls over the phone ( even from fellow members ) and that she would need to send in the info to them and quite rightly was left a little puzzled.

So full points to the great team up in the NT and the SA guys a tip, STOP drinking the tap water it's no good for you. :evilsasmo

Its funny but not at the same time.

A few years ago while in New Zealand i heard a funny story so I will share it with you:
Motorist gets caught speeding on speed camera, At this stage all photos were keep at police headquarters unless requested. Motorist requests photograph. Police send photocopy of photo, Motorist agrees its him and sends police photocopy of cheque, Police replies with photocopy of handcuffs. Motorist pays fine.

How do they get away with that.? I would have thought that as a matter of natural justice, the evidence has to be presented to the accused. If the evidence is a camera detected speeding offence, I would want the picture at NO charge. btw..$ 8.50..gold foil backed photo paper ?

In QLD they used to send it to you with the original notice. Not sure if they still do.

Good luck Doc!

Guys, if any of you have racked up a speeding fine and you have a payment plan make sure you keep a very close track on it!!!

I was a day late on my second last installment and apparantly "some glitch in the system" (yeah right) means that if you make a late payment they don't send out any more payment slips (which you need in order to pay the fine).

The end result? I thought I had paid the fine when in fact I had only $26 to go. 4 months later they send me a very threatening letter informing me that I now have to pay $373 IMMEDIATELY or have my vehicle clamped and my assets seized.

The moral of the story? These people are immoral, inhuman, ruthless and NOT TO BE TRUSTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!

I'm sure many would agree, but a little bit of me says you were hoping they forgot about it, and paid the price :

no way mate, computers never forget! they lose money if they forget, it costs nothing to remember.

[edit]: Although I will grant you that I'm an idiot for not keeping track of how much I've paid.

No Stress, but will agree the govs are taking these fines way to far, new cameras in the city flashing away costantly catching people moving with the flow a few K's over , it must all blow up sooner or later.

That's the answer....BLOW THEM UP :the_finge the cameras that is.

a camera on a stretch of road near my parents place has been shot out 6 tiimes so far. It even has bullet proof glass over the lense. I guess the local boys dont think much of it.

I wonder if it took a photo of the bullet? wonder who they will send the fine to?

Well i suppose but not even worth touching it, they still have not sent the first bill to this guy, so getting them to do anything other than worry about when thier next lunch break is beyond them, what i might do is put my old plates back on eliminating the chances of it happening again.
