Hi George I've just (found) started viewing this thread and will keep doing so with interest. I have a green manual gossy myself and i love it rust and all. You just dont see them at shows enough, they are more rare than gt's IMO.
I dont want to sound like a stickler but i noticed the RHS shock tower hasn't got the clip to hold the xb washer bottle, I was just wondering is all. keep it up I would like to see more gossies on the road including my own

Thanks for the post. The engine bay is being finished off this week. I appreciate you comment and would be grateful if you could post a pic of the missing clip!

The gossie is now back with my mechanic for a final once over of the engine and underside. Once I am sure I am clear of his grubby mitts the trim is going in. Then it is back to the painter for a little bit of touching up. The whole thing should be ready by the end of the week after next.

Cheers mate. I'll try and get that sorted today (work permitting). I've not previously worked on a late xb with this style washer bottle and you may have noticed from an earlier thread that the whole bottle setup was missing when I got the old girl. Thanks to Luke GT of this forum I got the correct bottle, I might have to lean on him for the clip if I can't rustle one up locally.

It is time for a quick update. Apologies I only took a few quick photos. I was too busy chasing the little guy to stop him putting grease from the workshop floor onto my beatufiul new white trim!!!!

The trim is pretty much complete. I just need to put the armrests in and tidy up the dashpad a little (it got scratched lying around).

You will see that I have gone the original goss white vinyl with green hounstooth inserts. This very same combination was on the goss cars that were featured in Motor magazine when the goss was released in 1975 and also on a beautiful verly low klm one owner goss that featured in Unique Cars magazine about 12 years ago. I think it looks great but am ready to be heckled!

This week I need to get the engine and running gear finished 100%. There is a little issue with backfiring, the wiring needs to be tidied up and the underside needs a lick of paint. I also need to put the original airfilter and snorkel back in (they have been hit with a tin of ford blue).

I picked up a set of option 52 wheels fairly cheap yesterday. They have 30 years of grease and staining on the alloy. If they polish up half decently I'll put them on. If not, I'll pick up a set of trusty 15 x 10 globes.

Once the wheel and tyre combo is sorted I am sending her back to the painter for a few minor touch ups in areas I was not 100% happy with.

Once that is done we are ready for rego and then onto Echuca!!!!

Apologies again for the small number and quality of the pics.

My son took this last pic. Not bad for a little squirt!

George

Love the trim combination mate! It looks fully hektik as the young ones would say

As for the option 52 wheels well done. I was tracking a set on ebay that went pretty cheap recently too. I have already have two sets though ;)

Get the wheels soda blasted and just polish up the outer lip. They will come up a treat

Looks fantastic mate!! I was toying up the idea of going with white interior on my build but settled for black because my toe rags will wreck it on the 1st cruise lol

Hey George, well done!! Great choice on the interior as well. Can't wait to see it at Echuca.

Pity Sandstone will be left behind in Sydney. Perhaps you have a trusted mate who could bring it??

Cheers.

Thanks for the positive feedback fellas.

Bringing the sandstone beige gs to Echuca is on the cards. I've entered both on the form sent to HQ but only paid for one for now.

The squirt and his brother and sister have already claimed everything else in my house including my television, DVD player, my study which is now a toy room and they even take my food. It's only a matter of time before they get their hands on my coupes!!!

George - I had though about getting the wheels soda blasted. I'll get a quote. What did you pay?

Default Echuca Ready

This project is tracking well and the goose mobile is registered and ready for Echuca!!!

I am not totally finished with this one yet. Off the top of my head the to do list reads as follows:

- finish off engine bay ie affix stickers to air filter etc
- correct the paint job. Whilst it is very tidy and the body is dead straight and clean. The guy got lazy with the paint and it is no where near as good as the job done on my sandstone beige beauty. This irks me no end!

After I take her to Echuca and cop a few stone chips, I am going to book her in with the same guy that did the sandstone one for a rub back and respray. The hard work has been done in terms of the rust and body work so it won't take much to redo the paint.
- replace the current 17 inch wheels with a set of fat globes. The 17's have come off the becnh for a run whilst I wait to take delivery of the globes.
- repair the louvre. it has a lug missing at one of the bottom corners and I am not sure what to do with the end of two metal strips at the bottom centre. I'll post some photos below and in a separate post for your help!

Enough jibbering from me, enjoy the pics lads (and ladies):
