AUs design is coherent, but polarizing.

"Can any replacement Mustang afford the new rear drive platform, when the best selling V6 version starts at less than US$20k." That's the sort of thing that makes me so cynical about the new RWD platform, because it will need to be very cheap to manufacture to be able to be used in Mustang. To be able to be cheaply manufactured then means they will have to cut corners on design and materials to make it cheap and easy to make, so no aluminium suspension bits like the FG has. If the platform was solely to be used in Lincolns and Crown Vic as well as Falcon it wouldn't bother me so much, but a cut price budget platform isn't what the Falcon needs. Or maybe they will have 2 versions just like they did for the DEW98 platform, where the Jag S type had all the expensive alloy bits while the Lincoln LS and Thunderbird had a cheaper version. |
