Sounds like an interesting project shane...as you said the journey of the modding will be just as enjoyable as the power at the end of it
I would pick the turbo setup definately....there are a number of turbo 6's getting around with excellent results. There are also good results of turbo's getting around that are so sedate cruising around your aunty would be happy driving it, yet turns into an animal once the boot sinks in. All you need is the required BOV and they arent really noisey whatosever. As Sox mentioned they are more efficient, and from what some have said less prone to heat buildup altering your torque & power settings etc via the ECU Plus the increases in torque as well as power are huge, with loads more for the taking with adequate internal work (plus drivetrain) |

Im surprised the poll is so close. So many traditionalists on this site that dont like progress :P
Buy mine casper! You can give me lots of money, be done with your goals, and I can buy a nice V8 to get me to the shops and back.

Hows this for a plan.
1) Get a well designed turbo set up, GT40 roller, 6/2/1 manafold, custom plenum, all the biz to make a sedate and an absolute animal all in one. 2) Get a HUGE stereo install, loud enough so you can't hear anything else 3) Make a CD of supercharger gear whine.

So I voted supercharger for the same reason I'm considering supercharging my XF eventually - it's different to what everyone else has.

Supercharge it!!
I am so sick to death of hearing blow off valves on every second car that goes past. To me it seems that evey man and his dog is doing it for pure **** factor now. _ Funnily enough I was discussing doing this to the EB eventually as well.. eventually. Quote:

What makes the whine is just the straight-cut gears in the head unit. You can get helical cut gears in the same head unit for less noise if you like, but thats no fun.

a supercharger install would need to be engineered as much as a turbo install.

i voted supercharger as you allready have spent money on JMM extractors it would be silly to see them wasted with a turbo..

Well as of 6:00 pm on Friday the poll is split 20 votes each. Why did you vote for Turbo Casper? It would be 20 to 19 votes in favour of the supercharger.
My thoughts are the super charger. You have great JMM pipes, it is something different (Most people want to bolt Turbos on), and that blow off sound gives me the insert a censored word here.

i voted turbo, a gt3540 would be right at home next to the vct rocker cover and look fantastic.
One day id like another turbo car, the rush onto boost is hard to forget in my ea. Maybe a gt40 on my xr8? |

Another point worth considering. Both setups have a lot of similarity. Either way your going to have to upgrade internals (in the same way), upgrade fuel system and engine management, drivetrain, add oil lines, etc. Its just the last stage thats different - bolt on pulleys and a SC or manifold and turbo. If you go SC, play around with pulley sizes and STILL dont get the power your after, I would think you would be able to sell the supercharger, brackets, pulleys etc for roughly the cost of a turbo and manifold.

Supercharger. A positive displacement supercharger suits the low revving nature of the falcon better than a turbo which to be raelly honest you will get real power out of without all those 24 valves and dohc and vct etc on the BA.

It would be a centrifugal supercharger. The cost and drama involved in fitting a Positive Displacement SC onto a side mounted I6 manifold is simply too expensive. It would be a custom build for almost every piece.
Vortech V2 v's Garrett GT40 (or similar)

Go the turbo with the quiet blow off valve Casper!
Less money now, more power now, and later. |

voted for blower I will roam the street in a blown car again too!!! its a reacurring dream I tell ya!
In reality anything above 15 psi (both turbo and vortech can achieve) is not going to be too freindly umm race car??. Dan, Ea sprint and a few others are still under this level so its really 6 of one etc etc , brendans ef (troubles I know) still was a low 13, But a seriously setup properly a blown car (I dont doubt youd take any short cuts casper ,will make your hair stand on end. Id defnitely look at a procharger ,somthing like that and water/air setup up on a purpose built I6 would be tough as nails |

Whats the current range of Turbo kits at the market for the EECV?
I'm thinking, roughly 12 psi, $12k? Plus fitting? |
