I always take my 4-year-old daughter with me when I cruise the toy aisles. Nobody gives you a second glance if you have a kid in tow.
There was one time I bought several Hot Wheels cars by myself (no kid tagging along) and the lady at the register didn't even bat an eyelid. She mentioned that her boyfriend had a few hundred HW cars hanging on the wall. To quote a Legoland employee: "The day we stop playing is the day we start getting ready to die." No truer words spoken.

As far as I know, there's been no ZA or XW released.
There is a 1966 Ford Fairlane GT, based on the American 2-door Fairlane.

Hotwheels must be brand biased, not many aus fords!!
Rik, this Thursday we should start early, get more shops in. Eastern retailers I think. Really keen to find a few more chev or Pontiac models.

I normally ignore Hotwheels as they are mainly foreign cars...but I heard about the XB coupe and managed to find two today.
Very Happy

I love those 1/8th scale XY's. I know where there's one in an Adelaide shop, but he wants four digits for it, can't remember the exact price but it ain't cheap. Still, an amazing model, so much detail and beauty.
Nice find on the XB's. As Naish says, we haven't found any yet, and we scour the shops, but apart from seeing the 10-packs with them in it, I'm yet to find one.

Shotgun coll.
I'm going out Saturday to hunt. Start south, finish north. If I get more than one, I'm giving one to Rik, the rest(if I get any) I'll give away to AFF members.

Beat This for Dedication!!!!
I am currently on holiday in Hawaii for the next week. I thought i should be able to walk into a wal-mart are grab one. Here's the list of stores i checked and got nothing. Macys Wal-Mart Longs K-Mart and Toys R' Us My Uncle walked into a Longs drug store at Ala Moana and within 30 seconds he bought 2 of them. The poor casheir at toys r us copped quite a spray when she was silly enough to ask "did you find what you are looking for?" to which I responded "No" but I have 2 of them and I am here until monday week... So the search is NOT over yet!!! So i got a couple of other nice 1/64th scale cars (1970 torino 351 and a 69 Chevelle and a Rodder's Journal)

Picked up a 2010 GT mustang today(thanks rik for the mustang concept too) so I'm going to try and get all mustangs that they've made.

There's a heap of Mustangs.
So far in the 2010 ones I've got: '62 Mustang Concept '67 Mustang Fastback '67 Shelby GT500 '10 Shelby GT500 '10 Mustang GT Plus the ones from previous years. Then factor in most of them have 2-3 different paint job variations to choose from, so if you get them all you could possibly end up with around 25 different Mustangs!

I gave up after visiting around 20 stores over a few weeks. Paid $20 for my XB off ebay (still hasn't turned up) but when you consider the amount of petrol to drive around looking for the car it is well worth it. I have heard it is rare in Australia for the reason people will still buy other cars while looking for it but am sceptical of this due to the way they are randomly packaged.

Its not really rare as such, its in the new boxes the same amount as most other cars (ie 3 per box), problem is, demand is much higher than supply. Its like the Ghostbusters cars when they came out a couple of months back, they're the car that everyone wants, so everybody grabs them, and problem is, if there's 3 on the shelf its pretty well guaranteed that whoever gets there first will grab all three.
The thing that really really has started to irritate the you-know-what out of me is the people that just go buy them for the sole purpose of putting them on ebay. Makes it hard for the true collectors who want to collect and appreciate them to actually find them without paying stupid $ for them.

I have 2 friends that are store managers of large department stores...
They are personally opening and checking all shipments of Hot Wheels - and I am yet to snag 1 x XB Coupe... Shattered... (they must be limited edition)...
