Nope, no bonnet scoop for me... Prefer the original lines of the bonnet so didn't end up getting one. But agreed, they'd be hard to track down today.

Bunter the only way you are going to get any of the body kits is to import them yourself. Belive me E-BAY can be your friend.

Petal is just in the process of getting a ROUSH kit from the states which will mean she will have the only one in Australia. The Roush kits are even rare in the USA.

Get on the US Cougar Forums and you will also find plenty of parts from other Cougar owners.

Hi Guys,
I am also a new owner of a cougar, I bought one for my wife. We have liked them for a long time and finally got hold of one. Its a 99 Spruce Green auto all very original and in pretty good condition. I am hoping you guys could assist with a couple of things. I am missing pages 64-97 in the owners hand book and they have doubled up on pages 129-160 is this typical or just my luck. I would like to aquire a genuine CD stacker if anyone has up-graded and wishes to sell the old working unit. How many members with Cougers are on the Forum?

Are these a good first car? Reading from this thread they seem a bit expensive to maintain.

yeh, personally i wouldn't recommend them to an 18yo. They're a drivers car and can bite a bit hehe. They are expensive if anything serious happens because there are very few parts around.

From my experience they are not that bad really. I used to drive a Renault 19 and that was terrible for parts & service. I went through three alternators, two starter motors and three clutch cables in about 5 years and 100k.

So far on my Cougar I have hardly spent anything, to be sure I got my plugs & leads from Rockauto in the US and saved a bit there but really it has been excellent thus far.

I think it varies a lot from car to car you know if you get a good one and look after it then the car will look after you.

I guess it depends on perspective. Of course when something goes wrong it seems expensive because it's an unexpected expense, but it's probably all relative these days. I don't think there are too many newish cars out there that aren't 'expensive' to repair.

The Cougar can just be a bit problematic due to rarity and workshops not knowing how to deal with them.

Aside from that, they're excellent cars to own and drive and I still get a smile from driving it everyday

"GOOD MORNING COUGAR OWNER'S".

I work the streets of Campsie NSW. Where a LLLOOOTTT of well tanned (gay "NOT") white hat drivers of there WRX's cruise the streets & every day & night I manage to p*ss them off. To the point one follwed me to work, got out of his car & said "whats tht mate".

My reply was a FORD that you can only dream of having & kept walking, head held high.

Through the security screens I watched him taking photos & ???? ringing people for about 3/4 of an hour.

So need less to say I have been parking in a different location since.

THE ARROW This is for you,

PARK Rd between Prince Hwy & Rail way Pde Allawah. Between Red Rooster & Little Italia resteraunt. The best I have done 80/90 4gear no brakes up & down. Many good tight corners. "COOL X 10" : : :

Cougs, a nice effort in Park Rd. considering there is a mini round-a-bout at the bottom of the hill. My favourite spot is as you come under the railway bridge at Kogarah and turn right onto Railway Pde just down from the RSL. I light her up and hear her ROAR all the way up to the RSL.

My kids are always saying "not again" !!!! (tres amusement!!!!)

Anybody else ???

Well, having not driven a car for three weeks (been overseas) I'm just happy to be driving my car anywhere and hearing her roar again

What's that old saying about being apart making the heart grow fonder? Well yeah, it works on cars too :P

A lot cheaper than 3000.00+ Aus dollars & cheaper than going through insurance 500.00. : :

Cougs, as it happened I drove down Park Rd. over the weekend: not a bad effort through there at 80kph I can see the round-a-bout would not be a problem if you lined it up right.

Cougs, as I said E-Bay is your friend when in search of car parts.

Gave a lift to an acquaintance of mine on Friday night who had never seen the CAT before and he couldn't get over it. All the way to his place he must have asked me a 100 questions about it.

So I enlightened him accordingly.

Has anyone heard from PETAL and how her body kit is going??

Cougs, I am missing a drivers side sticker.

If you have one I am definitely interested.

I coming up for rego for my CAT and of course I will need a new set of tyres. I have been running a combination of BFG and Goodyear F1 for the last year or so and I am not happy with the Goodyears and I can't afford BFG's.

The BFG's were noisier but gave better grip whilst the Goodyears were smoother but were crap in the wet.

I am leaning towards a low profile KUMHO.

Has anyone run these??
