Again I seem to be missing the bigger picture after reading the article.
Kewell comes back in the twilight of his career, goes against the governing body which can only be interpreted as a money grab and this is good exposure for FPV? Not sure if any publicity is good publicity in this instance.. if marketing was all about having a Ford logo on a news page, there are a lot cheaper ways to achieve it. |

Well to me aligning with an international sporting star like Kewll is a refreshing change from the tradition that both HSV and FPV have had of aligning with local relatively lesser known motorsport identities.
People criticize FPV's lack of marketing effort or creativity but this represents a new broader more appealing approach and thinking outside the square, i applaud it. |

Hi all,
Wamackie from Australan FourFourtwo forums here (http://au.fourfourtwo.com/forums/def...px?g=forum&c=7) just stopping by to say that, from the soccer supporters' end, we llike the deal with Harry and FPV. A lot of soccer fans are car fans also, so it's a good fit. Your forum I've linked to on the soccer website, so a bit of cross-promotion isn't a bad idea. May Ford create a modern day XY GT with FPV we hope (and Harry Kewell doing a burnout on Sydney harbour Bridge for the TV ad) |

I see it as a win win situation both for Soccer in Australia and FPV!

Hmmm,FPV is Aussie and Kewell is when he wants to be.
Could have chosen a better celebrity imo. |

How do you know that a couple of celebrities didn't just decide to buy a FPV and in the process of doing so, marketing opportunities surfaced. I reckon there is a fair chance the other identity is also driving around in a FPV right now.

Just open your mind up a little bit. Its so simple it hurts, he perused his goals, showed ambition and has an appetite for success, these are the qualities in which FPV want to promote..its as easy as 1 + 1 Last edited by Polyal; 23-09-2011 at 02:37 PM. |

The other part of your post has been dealt with by Harry himself and is superfluous to the point I was making.

I love how Holden use their current V8supercar drivers (which consumers think, "yes, this bloke knows what he is talking about-because he is one of the best drivers in Australia and he drives for a living") to sell their performance car's and Ford use some Rich Soccer player who is technically an Australian. Soccer players don't know **** and 99% can't drive for ****.
I live in the country now but I'm holidaying in Perth and I've been getting around the streets and been to a few shows/cruises and I have only seen 1 FPV Supercharged GT. As apposed to more then 2 dozen latest GTS/R8's. Holden marketing wins again.

If your figures are correct how much of a bad look is it for FPV to have Kewells childish/loser behaviour (which almost get him sent off) on the news this weekend compared to HSV grining that Tander was the lead story on every station last week for being a champ. Kewell will only get worse as he comes to terms with the drop in quality to A league |
