I also remember my old man telling me that when they grew bananas, they were straight, so they sent them to factories to bend them.

And that’s why they called Queenslanders banana benders.

There was a special breed of cows that had shorter legs on one side so they could walk around on hills ..

Well one day my sister and I had our neighbours over (nother boy and girl) and we were dancing around being stupid with the music blasting. When my mum came home she asked us what we were doing and I still remember yelling out "we are having a gang bang!". . . . . . . . . . . . it took me about 6 years to work out why I got in trouble for saying that. I thought that it was a cool saying about our gang of friends having a disco.

I remember wondering how Dad got the car (351 XD with 4 speed) to reverse.

I never realised the gearstick was the cause, I thought it was mind control!

My mother in-law still thinks that when the ad says:
"...this car is available with 3 engines: diesel and two petrol..."
you can actually buy a car with three engines under the bonnet.

I still kind of think that now. If I think of some kind of event that happened between the 1920's to 1960's, I would imagine it as being black and white.

Some of my favorite memories from some of the blondes I knew when I was younger:

1) When she spotted a power point behind the fridge, she asked why. I told her it was what the fridge was plugged into. She replied "Is it electric? Our one at home has a motor in it".
2) She believed that if you left the power point switched on with nothing plugged it, electricity leaked out and faded the carpet.
3) She believed that if you pressed buttons on a remote control with the video/tv unplugged the "remotes" just floated around the room and actived when the device was plugged back in.
4) She stated that waves rolling toward the shore implied the tide was coming in.
5) She believed us when we told he we used live rounds on training excercises and used to get fined if anyone in our section was killed.

N.B. "She" is several people.

When I was a kid, the whole family went to the Ripley's Believe it or not Museum.
When we were leaving, there was a guy
in the parking lot handing out free bumper stickers.
He gave one to my sister (she was 6) and old her
it was a "special" one because it was printed upside down.
(He handed it to her upside down)
She was so excited about it, my brother and I laughed our rear ends off.

Me, I thought if a car parked in a fire lane, it burst into flames.

My brother & I had our little sister convinced that the dried flaky, cracked silt in the bottom of old pot holes in dirt roads was chocolate.

She would happily sit & eat it.

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.
