A good mate of mine had " TF 1174 " on his VN Scummydore ( A real lemon that spent more time at the dealers in its first 18 months of life than in his driveway ) . He is a train buff and this number was from a train whos boiler end plate was installed incorrectly so the steam tubes did not align thus preventing the train from ever making any power .

That's outrageous, hahaha. It is nearly as bad as people putting VY commodore "supercharged" badges on anything that is supercharged

There are a few running round S.A like this. Even the interior is white and blue, with the Cobra insignia on the seats and in the gauge cluster.

Rumour I heard was a big Ford dealership in S.A "tarted" a few low spec BA's up like this. Then someone in the heirachie (spelling I know) got wind of it and had a quiet word in their ear and they ceased doing them.

Hahaha that magna with the Chevy Badge is gold!
I've seen this stuff a fair bit too and it annoys me so much!

Once saw a Proton Satria with the Chevy Bowtie on it....
Admittedly it was fully sick!?

UUMMMM...The crummydore (Monaro to be precise) was rebadged as a Pontiac. They also exported the VE and rebadged it as a Pontiac in the good ol US of A.

If memory serves me correct, the Pontiac fronted VE was exported to England too, but don't hold me to that.

Don't think there's anything wrong with that personally. Perhaps it was actually an Opel Astra that the owners have brought over here.

Once I saw a white stock standard Mitsubishi 380 with 'GT-R' badges on it ...

The driver was driving it like a nanny, though.

Pontiac badges starting to appear on Holdens?
You want to hear something really interesting?

A few years back, we had a VX Commodore Lumina, and put clear taillights on it (don't laugh, with the burgandy metallic a few touches of chrome looked very nice...).
I put the old taillights on Ebay, and two guys started a bidding war, and I ended up selling them for $120. So what, you might say?
The interesting part is that one guy was in New York and the other in Denver, Colorado. I spoke to the winner, the guy in New York, and he said that he had a then-new Pontiac GTO. It was a "done thing" to replace the Pontiac front end, taillights, and all badging to make it once again a Holden Monaro "to be different and stand out from the crowd". Apparently a lot of US owners loved the car itself but didn't really like the droopy-looking Pontiac front bar, and were ordering panels and stuff from Australia to make them look like the much more purposeful Australian Monaro once again. He sent me a pic of his black Monaro sitting on the pier with the Statue Of Liberty off in the background some distance away. If I can track it down I'll post it here.

I told him that it was a craze here to take off the Holden badges and put Chev badges on them to obviously make them look American. He thought that was a bit odd.
At least the Yanks were doing the right thing by making what had originally been a Holden back into a Holden again...what point is there putting Chev badges onto a Holden when it's a Holden and not a Chev?

I always wanted to put Buick badges on our VX, as it had the V6, which was descended from the original VN V6 which was a Buick motor anyway...

Yeah theres a website/video somewhere of a guy in the states who has purchased everything he possibly can to make his VE shaped Pontiac look identical to our VE SS and he reckons he has the most complete one in the states.

Tonight on the Gold Coast I saw an FG XR6 with the number plate 5UX 2BU.
Rather clever I guess. It's funny when people use numbers to make words.

In a way, it looked more like radio station call signs from 2 different states.
