In Victoria, if plates have to be returned to Vicroads. You get a refund of the original purchase price of the plates. If they cost you $400 you get $400 back. |

Ha! I understand your frustration, but it might be deemed offensive to a number of VTEC Yo bros who don't get the idea that a supercharged V8 would be faster than variable cams.

Queensland plates I purchased for my Ford Focus Sport I used FFS and
went through no problems. I wondered why the lady at the main roads office questioned me when doing the transfer of the old plates asked me the meaning. I said Ford Focus Sport. She said Oh, OK. A work mate laughed at them one day and asked me how I got them through. What you talking bout I asked. Work it out. Man I was slow. Maybe you need to ask them for replacement done different. If it matches the car I guess they have no argument. Blown has a few meanings unfortunately and the person who knocked yours back took it the wrong way. Can you call into a office maybe instead of emailing. In person may get better result. |

Mate had [3JKUL8] on his Yamaha R6 for ages, took a few attempts to get them as well. One day he got a letter saying he had to hand them in as they were offensive.
It's kinda rediculus really, people get offended just because someone else may get offended. PC sucks!

This was photograhed a couple of months ago (in NSW).
Victoria may be a little more lenient than other states

I recall Garry Rogers (owner of GRM in V8Supercars) arguing to keep his plates for what I think was a renault or something. HOON was deemed inappropriate. He has a sense of humour, so what. (Cant recall if he got to keep them)

No but if the draconian laws and arbiters of taste and appropriateness of our reregistration departments, the topic of this thread deem these plates acceptable then so shoudl AFF. Just reflecting Australias communities standards and all!
