I am 100% with Bluepower too, there is not enough respect for the Police and the s h i t they put up with. Now perhaps it was a little heavy handed, but I still back the police on this one. Would like to know how such a video gets out...its not by accident so it seems odd. Surely the officers know the vid is on... How about the car hey...not a coincidence.

That's stating everything negative from the past. I got smacked as a kid and i came out fine. These days all you can do is say no and more and more teenagers are wrong do-ers and it will only get worse. |

Ask yourself this, if your child/teenager/young adult did a burnout in front of your house and then mouthed off to you afterwards would you retaliate and kick the **** out of them? or how would you feel if that was your child that happened to?

For the exaggeration about "J-walking" earlier... lets go the other way... will the general public still side with the do-gooders if Western Society were to start experiancing Coloumbian-style cop-killers as the norm?
C'mon guys, where there's smoke there's fire and anyone that tells you they were assaulted by the law for ABSOLUTLEY NO REASON is lucky they were born with a knob on the end of their proverbial. Quote:

I'd rather see my son go through the right channels in the system for his punishment if he comitted this sort of crime, and I would back the system all the way with whatever they deemed he deserved as this is why we have a justice system, but to have a lowlife copper be judge, jury and executioner on the side of a road and kick the **** out of him I would not and will not tolerate.
Basically what some are saying here is, if your being a ****head its ok for me to kick the crap out of you, because if its ok for the law it has to be ok for me.

Perhaps there's a generation divide between those who think the cops dealing out a beatdown, night in the cells and being sent on their way in the morning is acceptable and those that believe cops should politely escort repeat offenders to say hello again to the beak.
That's just the way it was done back when I was young. No wasting the court's time to deal a slap on the wrist.. done, dusted and among a few of my mates that copped it, lesson learnt. Quote:

Mr Burnout has basically said "f*&k you, I have no respect for you, your family or neighbours". The reson we have so many fools is that physical punishment has disappeared and for the lower iq of society, thats all they can comprehend. The softly-softly social experiment has failed. |

I think I saw a snippet of the news with one of the individuals being interviewed.
Acting like the type of person that would infuriate the police, "Oh dem Police are a bunch of dawgs" and the news mentioned he was involved in an accident 2 weeks prior to him being involved in the burnouts, seriously? :| |

You all seem to be missing the point, Police are here to uphold the law, not make there own. Fair enough that these kids did wrong but it doesnt condone them getting flogged with a baton and kicked the **** out of. the HOON laws are in place for a reason. Did the officer that watched and held the torch get any conviction? I think not. I bet if any of us were witness to something like that we would have been charged with being an accesory to a crime. These so called law enforcers should have had an instant dismissal and not this **** poor penalty

Not missing the point at all but its too easy to jump on the band wagon against the police. Wonder if these blokes have dealt out similar justice on the general public and got away with it ..... just asking. I wouldn't know but then the full story isn't available, but you know something everyone else doesn't?

The seemingly almost romantic version of the old copper giving you a clip under the ear and a kick in the backside and sending you home for being an idiot does not apply here What those officers did was beyond what was necessary given the apparent circumstances |

We get a thread on here on assault, and most are condoning it but we get one on here about someone speeding and you want them hung haha laughable really and does show how much of a knuckle dragging society we really are.

Turn the camera off next time dudes , nah just kidding.
when we were growing up and messed up we got a good clip under the ear for it , nice little "chat" and a night in the cell bloody worked lol, But was always done standing up. Bashing someone when there already down ? Hmm. Sounds like these guys (commo numpty driver and clingon ) needed a "tuneup" but fair go ?, They`ll get theres eventually , hopefully a big tree or Karma gets em 1st before they kill innocents.

Is disrespecting those in authority and upholding the law any worse than disrespecting the average civilian?

The two police who are being dealt with will face justice under the law. They will be dealt with more harshly than the average citizen as they should. They have to in extremely difficult circumstances do an extremely difficult job and despite being human must maintain higher standards of behaviour than the rest of the community. But just remember they are human and can stuff up. Not only will they be punished they will lose their jobs. I have no sympathy for the
victims in this incident. I do not condone the action of the two police officers. But I think I understand it.
