Australia's most iconic muscle car has risen from the ashes, two years after production of the locally-built Falcon officially ended.

The legendary Falcon GT-HO has been revived - in spirit at least - with an aftermarket kit that was originally developed for the swansong high-performance Falcon.

Dubbed "The Holy Grail" and created by the engineering team behind all FPV models, Premcar - the Australian independent vehicle development operation that was born from the demise of Prodrive Australia - the kit includes performance and handling upgrades for owners of any FG-X Falcon with a supercharged 5.0-litre V8, such as the Falcon Sprint and FPV GT variants.

Limited to just 100 units, each costing $24,885, the kit consists of an all-new intake manifold equipped with a triple by-pass intercooler, as well as recalibrated engine management system that lifts its rev limiter to 7000rpm.

The net result is a significant increase in outputs, elevating its maximum power to 478kW while peak torque is increased to 753Nm, which puts it on par with the HSV GTSR W1 (officially Australia's most powerful production car) with 474kW and 813Nm.

Beyond the engine upgrade, the Holy Grail Falcon can be ordered with suspension upgrades including a new Trail Blade that allows the fitment of lightweight forged alloy 19-inch wheels (measuring 8.5-inches wide at teh front and 10.5-inches wide at the back) with sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres. Premcar has also created an adjustable coil-over set-up for the Holy Grail kit, as well as a specific three-inch stainless steel exhaust system, with assistance from touring car legend John Bowe in the development process.

Bernie Quinn, Director and Chief Engineer of Premcar, told Drive "this is the car we always wanted to create to send-off the Ford Falcon, and we're really excited that we can offer it to a limited group of owners now."

I wonder if Shockworks were engaged to work on this project .....

Premcar has also created an adjustable coil-over set-up

Brett and JB go waaaaaaaaaaay back , so Im curious if its a rebranded Shockworks product.

On a personal note and IMHO - unless the package comes with a signed Ford Factory blessing certificate - I wouldn't go anywhere near it with a GT-F. Normal GT - yes.

Seems I've had HOLY GRAIL spec suspension on my BFGT for years now with the Shockworks gear.

This Rim and tyre size upgrade will be interesting - it exceeds the standard GT / GT R spec and GT-F tyre / wheel placard by more than 1 inch and may change manufacturers offset by more than 1 inch which may/will make it very murky from an engineering / insurance / roadworthy perspective in different states around Australia.

Ford and FPV argued back and forth who should pay for the body strengthening and couldn't come to an agreement. So it got canned according to some people on here.

Interesting that Premcar can simply add their designed inter cooler and a tune to get such performance... whereas from what I have read, many tuners have to also advocate adding bigger injectors and higher capacity fuel pumps as well (to pour fuel down the throat)...

There must be some significant differences in their different approaches, given the same starting points..

I am old school and thought amount of O2 + fuel plus combustion in internal engine is directly proportionate to power.

So bigger valves and bigger cam etc allows more air into engine for more power, but with greater air need to have fuel added to give the bang.

Perhaps all the other tuners have been snakeskin oil upselling need for bigger injectors and fuel pumps to reach more power and 7000 revs when the oem pump and injectors sufficient for 7000 revs with correct tunning

TBH, 480kw at the flywheel roughly converts to 400rwkw. How many miami powered cars need a fuel pump and injectors to make that type of power ? Most are making that power with a tune, and a cat back. Intercooler obviously helps but it is not necessary to go for an aftermarket pump and injectors for that power.

Thing is though as with the earlier phase auto stuff and later like the Moffat HO - with a placard or whatever numbering system if it is done properly it will add to resale value and future collect-ability

The tune must be pretty good if the driveline holds up. How many tuned cars with similar power have busted ZF’s and drive shafts?

At a resent presentation, Bernie was explaining that his team continue the previous work they had done, and whilst increase output cababilty, they still retain the drive line protection techniques, with individual in gear power and torque delivery mappings.
This would be a point of difference of an after market tuner, who simply may turn off these original protection techniques.

When I first found out about this Premcar offering, the more I found out, the more I was interested, and very tempted. However, once adding in the handling package, exhaust and wheels on top of the original Holy Grail (complete package), whilst still tempting, was a bit too much to justify to myself.

IMO this would not add any value to the vehicle, viewed as just another aftermarket mod.

There would be parts of it that dont pass new car regs. Different rules for new cars and aftermarket tuners.

Ford wouldnt agree to it as the power exceeded the chassis warrantable abilities, whilst we know from people who've gone down the aftermarket route that the cars can handle the additional power it was obviously beyond what Ford considered an acceptable risk.

The package on offer is obviously well researched, but in the end, regardless of who developed it, it is and always will be an aftermarket parts/tune upgrade and you'd have to question wether its worth the asking price for what is included.
