In the last 2 months, diesel around Bathurst was $1.35 at BP and $1.28 at Caltex! No competition!

+1. Using both premium and unleaded in a stock XF and BA I noticed no difference in economy or performance. I think most of it is in peoples heads.

I cant believe people with stock standard cars think that they can feel a difference between normal unleaded and the better stuff.......

Its like saying that their home made airbox, and HICLONE really makes a difference.

wait until you drive a car that when you use normal unleaded, the car pings, pre-ignites and pretty much runs like a dog, but if you put premium in it, all your problems are fixed.

of course, you're not going to believe it because it doesn't affect your car, but i've seen this happen many times in the past in mine and other people's cars.

not 2 engines that come out of the factory line are identical. if you think they are all identical, you're just showing your lack of knowledge on the matter.

sure, there are people that use premium for no real reason when their car would most probably run equally as good on normal unleaded, but there are a lot of cars out there that NEED to run on premium for good performance, despite what the manufacturer says.

And it all depends on what fuel you get, as in, when the fuel in the tanks at the servo run low and you fill up, you tend to get a bad batch of fuel, as well with other times.
I've been doing my own experiment with my car Ed 94 Xr6, for different fuels in Caltex/Safeway over the past 3months and these are my results (also i don't gun it unless i record it down)
1.Regular Unleaded 72ltrs - 400min to 450max kms
2. Vortex Premium 72ltrs - 450min to 550max kms
3. Vortex Premium 98 72ltrs - 400min to 460max kms

As I said i've been recording these figures and using a mean for all of them for 3months, and from what I assume, the vortex 98 gives alot more kick when you want it, but higher octane thus more fuel consumption hence lower k's than the premium.
Anyway I thougt i'd share my little experiant with you guys/gals n tell me what you think

I have found the same results except my BF GT loves the Shell V-Power Racing fuel. It hates BP

I use V-Power but would love to use V-Power Racing but it is 10 mins drive away,
would love to see it is available in all Shell servo rather than a selected few.
