Best sound for me was my XBGT stock standard and BA GT stock standard as well but foot down all the way to 160, what a sound, even my holden loving brother in law thought it sounded great

2010-12 Maserati Quattroporte with the 4.7L V8 before they got turbos.

Easily the nicest sounding engines that I've driven, although in Granturismos. The 4.2 was very very good, but the 4.7 felt a lot stronger and had a more muscular sound too.

Best sounding engine for me overall is the Triumph 1050cc triple that I had in my old Sprint ST.

Any car I’ve done a rebuild or major internal works on at its first fire up

Except the YD25 I did a timing chain on and I was 1/2 a to tooth out on the crank

Early 80’s XA coupe sun roof open, windows down enhanced 351 4 speed extractors connected directly to side pipes. Open road full noise. Cranky neighbours but.

This is one of those moments. The sound is very nice but the vehicle leaves a bit to be desired.

Ironically went for a quick drive at lunch to unwind and followed an AMG C63 2 door.

Not a huge fan of the look (back looks weird to me) but jeez it had a deep note, sounded pretty mint.

Best one i've owned was my first car, XD Fairmont 351. Genie extractors into a sports system with one muffler. Damn that thing always sounded awesome. Even if it wasn't fast, it sure sounded like it

My first thought is always 6.2L AMG. However the Gallardo V10 is pretty amazing.

I got to do a track day at Las Vegas Raceway in 2012 in a Gallardo. At the time I didn't pay too much attention to the sound since I was so focused on driving fast, but watching the video the girlfriend filmed from the pit lane was pretty great. It sounded fantastic.

Ironically that V10 is the reason I thought of the OP.

Insane sound when worked.

Sounds like an awesome track day, I'd love to do something like that one day
