I can add to my own reputation. Should I be able to do this?

You should but in updating the point counts last night I didn't update the reputation levels so I shall do so now - this might take awhile and will certainly slow the forum down for awhile but it should fix that issue.

Cheers

It would seem the system does allow this however if we find any then we will remove them!

I like it, but I can see this leading to post spamming for people who want to drive up their rep.

500 posts for 1 point would make it ridicously slow to up your own rep, but there is one person on this site who's post spamming drives me nuts and this only leads to encourage them.

Just an opinion, something to mull over.

But people seen doing so can and will be given negative rep by the mod/admin team making it pointless.

That person is likey to lose 71 points from SuperMod neg rep, it will then take them 35,500 posts to get back to where they were, not really worth it.

Let me just point out that the post count only impacts the points you can leave for others - they have no impact on your own reputation level.

Cheers

Is there anywhere that you can actually see your total point count?

Also, why do some of the admin/mods have some light green boxes as well as the normal green ones in their reputation levels?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

Minor I know, but have these database changes impacted on users birthdays in their profiles? (I know mines changed)
Also I notice "today's birthday list" down the bottom has disappeared

Once someone gives you rep points you will be able to see it in your user CP below all your subscribed threads.

As for the lighter boxes as your rep level goes up you go to the lighter boxes, I believe this is just to differentiate between lower and higher reps, much the same as if you go negative the box will turn red.

Some profiles that had things in quotation marks were corrupted when I reimported the database and birth dates are one of those fields. Likewise a handful of passwords where the password hash started with an equals sign had to be cleared but those users have been sent an email advising them of a password reset.

As I have a copy of the database in CSV format if anyone has corruption in their profile just PM me and I can retrieve the missing data from there.

Cheers
Russ

How will negative feeback comments be policed? Does appoval need to be sought from Administration before a moderator leaves a negative comment or deducts points?

I doubt they need confirmation from the admins. If the admins doubted the mods they wouldn't be mods in the first place.

Green thingies are your reputation as judged by your AFF peers - everyone can add points to you by clicking on a post of yours they like and adding points.

You can't see any pictures because you're not cool enough yet. I will add rep to the person who explained the missing pictures to you.

Will this data be collated and used to govern the distribution of some sort of prize? In all seriousness, does this mean unless someone finds our posts informative and good-reps us, we can't do likewise?

You can check your User CP to see if you have received any negative reputation. Otherwise it could have been a database error that was corrected.
