Got some new wheels for my buggy the other day.
Now the chassis wont hit the ground after every jump.

put a EDM body on my rc18, i had to cut it around a bit as it was too long, but i think it turned out ok

Well while I wait for just about every slash upgrade imaginable to turn up

RPM:
A-Arms F + r

4WD Slash Shocks

Lunsford Titanium pins (now I need c-clips, didn't realize they were not the screw type)

Robinson Racing pinions (various sizes) etc

I have been modifying a HBX cross tiger. Even though it is 2 years old it uses the Tamiya TL-01 chassis (old). As I have so much spare Slash stuff, I modified the front to utilise the Slash shocks instead of the very small tamiya ones. Seen here, It required me to use 3mm x 50mm screws with hex nuts from bunnings to be able to mount the to the A-arms. Basically the screw holds the shock and the caster block to the a-arm.





hoping to go to a specialty store and get the same size but with just the end threaded so it doesn't eat the A-Arm from the inside.

Just to give a comparison in size



I will do the rears when all my parts arrive. I tore down the front of my slash so I could put it all together and get it on the road faster when all my parts turn up lol, hence why the HBX has the new shocks now.

I also installed my Slash XL-5 system on it, just waiting for a tamiya av pinion and a 2.4ghz system. I have so far paid for all this but the person I am modding it for assures that anything I spend they will repay, if they don't I will just keep the car. I have sold $500 worth of models to pay for all my upgrades. All I needed was front bearing carriers lol.

I also bought my son a remotee control Tyranosaurus Rex, I stupidly asked him if he wanted it, then when I found the $5 ones that made a roar when you pushed the button, he was not interested.

i drove my gv cage into my foot at around 50-60kph i couldnt jump out of the way quick enough,still got the scar.
I was still struggling with the pistol remote because id always used the old joystick type
I have 2 traxxas boss mustangs one stock the other has a 9 turn yeah racing brushless combo and i now have a trophy 3.5 nitro,its a slug but its perfectly balanced for racing/jumping.
I had a crack at racing and came fourth on the day with the trophy but couldnt take how serious everyone gets so i pulled the pin on that idea
For an all round nitro car id recommend the gv cage because the .32 motor has heaps of grunt for a stock car and everything is aluminium and adjustable shocks standard.60-70km easy but beware the sharp bits do tend to make a mess of skin and bone

Well I forgot about this thread. I have completed all repairs and upgrades on my Slash. Going to strap my camera to it and go out very early one morning and drive it from place x back to home, chasing behind in the car lol. To do it safely likely means a 5am start hahaha. Also traxxas have released the Slash F-150 Raptor http://www.towerhobbies.com/products...as/trad43.html I am very tempted to buy one and use the body and wheels on my upgraded slash, then give the newer slash with my old body and wheels to my daughter.

I have a 'small' collection of RC cars, buggys, trucks, boats and a plane. Only 79 models so far ranging in scales 1:60, 1:35, 1:32, 1:24, 1:18, 1:16, 1:12, 1:10, 1:8 and 1:5. Electric, Nitro and 2-Stroke.

The majority are Tamiya 1:10 electric onroad and offroad. Nearly all run Castlecreations MambaMax or Sidewinder brushless systems with IP4000 2s Li-Po packs.

My entire backyard is an RC racetrack. Track is 6 foot wide and 300 foot long. The kids and I get out there and stir up the dust quite often.

The best by far is the HPI Baja 5B SS. Awesome to drive and work on.

I promised a video.

Attempt 2 at the climb, complete with final crash. This time with the 18t 32p pinion and I am just using a 20c Lipo. Much faster, took off like a rocket. I did a quick drive to make sure everything was o.k as far as trim was concerned and it seemed fine. The minute I took off it became apparant it was pulling left, but there wasn't much I could do about it, except make sure I kept it on the road, I think road camber had a role to play and also I may have knocked the trim, it was set slightly left. There won't be another attempt at the moment as it is too unsafe for the chase car to go up and around bends at the speed the slash can and as my fiance and kids are in the car, I won't be putting them in danger., I would estimate the slash was doing 70-75kp/h, at 60 in the chase car it was still pulling away. It was amazing the speed it took off, full power in a split second is amazing, my fairmont just couldn't match it, I had to slow down and let it catch up.

Im looking at buying at a hpi firestorm 10t flux and want to use lipo battery's but don't understand the difference in battery's battery chargers and charger power supply. i was looking at buying these do you recon these would be any good.
what battery's would you guys recommend.

mate you would be better off with one of these chargers, everything all in one

it will do 240v mains and also will charge your battery of a 12v battery (for whne your out and all you have is your car battery around)
it will also charge other type of batteries

i use one of these for my lipos and they are easy to use and never had a problem with mine

i run these batteries in my hyper 7 running 2650kv mamba monster combo

So is anyone planning on getting the Traxxas X0-1. 100mph straight out of the box, with some tweaks. But you need to have an iphone or ipod touch.

What would one recommend on a $300 budget, it needs to be a straight out the box runner and needs to be electric. i want another off roader and 2WD is preferred. I currently have a thunder tiger phoenix ST and it has copped an absolute bashing, been a great rig, but its time for something faster.

Didn't know to post here or a youtube thread. But here is a video of my Slash being beaten. It never broke lol and excuse the quality, my fiance had the iphone upright, hence the skinny window. I have never edited a video and rather than 3 small I tried to put them together. Please excuse my **** editing.

I bought my son a 1/16th traxxas e-revo for christmas it flies and puts my 1/8 losi lst2 nitro car to shame. It's far less hassle too. Tempted to go electric myself.
