Having played it and having a family that was heavily involved in it, I prefer it. And before the comments start that girls cannot play, bite me. I was and still am tho a fan of the english league. Oh and as far as I am concerned its not as easy as some are making out. I also think there should have been a rule for the hollywood dramatics that some players do.

Unfortunately they do not see it that way. I remember a match when I was about 17 between our home team and another team of culture I cannot recall, and I do know that at the end of the match because they had lost the crowd was pretty stirred up. In the end the refs had to be escorted from the field and locked in their change room till it all settled down. The way some people act at any sporting event is scary. Some just take it to far.

Football gets a bad rap, because of the agressive nature of the fans. I think they refer to them as Soccer Hooligans. I heard on the radio that the plan for the A-League is for unruley behaviour by the fans, the club will be docked competition points. I think is fair. If the fans are that passionate about their team and their sport, then they should support their team in a positive way instead of portraying all fans in a bad light.

I have never been a fan of the round ball game, but will watch those big events like the World Cup because it has the best teams in the world. Plus its good to see all that hype. Like the Olympic games and other big events of that nature.

Soccer is like anything, there is a market for it and there are fans who wil support it. Its like buying a car. Theres ford, holden, toyota, mitsubishi etc etc etc. Each brand has its own market. Why should the football codes be any different.

I say, if you don't like it, don't watch it. It's the same as threads on these forums. Idiots get in and voice their opinion on something they have no interest in, other than to start arguements. Threads turn to crap quick.

Arh you must be new to oz hey? This is the national brand of Football nothing else comes close (spectator wise) i like both rugby and league but soccor just is ruined by B grade acting and stupid rules. Now say whatever you like about AFL it is still tougher and a better game than soccor in this country just look at the crowd numbers.

The game where they roll around on the ground like a dying duck for ten minutes is the homo sport did you see what Beckham did the other night?...Oh no not me ankle arrhhh

And we don't give a toss if its the "world game" AFL is our GAme and we love it...

Sad, but not entirely shocking as he is an extreme recluse who lives with his father.

Euro 2008 LIVE on SBS - SBS


SBS has successfully secured the rights to broadcast selected LIVE EURO 2008 matches, including the opening game and final.

The free-to-air EURO 2008 agreement allows SBS to broadcast eight LIVE matches, including the opening game and final, in addition to a daily highlights programme, match replays and a 'Road to Euro' preview series.

SBS Radio will broadcast matches in languages of the participating nations in addition to English, with daily updates, interviews and live crosses in most language programs.

"2008 will mark eight years since Euro has been available on free-to-air and this is just another example of SBS’s commitment to providing all Australians with access to world class events," said SBS Managing Director, Shaun Brown.

"Being able to deliver an international tournament of this significance, across the corporation’s multi-media platforms is a fantastic opportunity for the network."

The UEFA European Football Championship is the world’s second major football event, topped only by the FIFA World Cup, for which SBS is the official broadcaster.

EURO 2008 will be co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland, between June 7-29 and will also be broadcast on subscription television through Setanta Sports Australia.

On Sunday 2 December at 10:40pm, SBS will broadcast the 'EURO 2008' draw with Andrew Orsatti and Chief Football Analyst, Craig Foster hosting the presentation.

AFL is a great game; NRL, not so great; Union, good to watch at the highest level.

Don't call soccer players pussies. I have watched many a game at a local club level and I have seen some horrendous injuries - broken legs, broken ribs, punctured lungs, broken arms, fractured cheek bones, dislocated knee caps, knee reconstructions, torn hamstrings and calf muscles, neck and spinal injuries. Seen it all.

^^^^Union at the highest level actually sucks to watch if the World Cup was anything to go by, from a neutral non biased standpoint it was boring overall, no real 'classic' matches as such.
