Nail in the coffin for a RHD Bronco. And another short sighted decision by Ford and I cant say that I'm surprised.

I think Australians should count themselves lucky that the RHD Mustang exists.
Pretty sad because I feel like the Bronco twins would have had success in this market.

Don’t winge people, get used to this for smaller volume products, and products affected by our stupid local design rules. |

That's a pity.
While I'm not currently looking for a new car, but a Bronco would be high on the list if I was. Not interested in a ute, and the everest just looks so damn boring, and I've always had a thing for 2 door 4wd wagons. |

As it said in the article, ford decided that the ranger was good enough for Australia. Pretty clear really, not based on development costs, not rhd development, but that we have ranger, that's all we need here.
The Ford Australia chief’s comments are consistent with statements she made in August, when Hart indicated the born-again Ford Bronco was no guarantee for local release because the Ranger – the Blue Oval’s top-selling model here – “really fills that space for us in Australia”.

It is strange with Ford's moves to SUV's that they aren't trying to add as many as they can. But in saying that the Bronco is a US icon and they don't look interested in sharing it.
The US has the Ranger but they don't have Everest. It would sort of be a double up of a very similar vehicle if we had Bronco as well. |

That’s how it works, it’s not about Product development saying they are making a car for the world, the product planning team reaches out to the markets and gauges interest, then they do the maths based on estimated volumes and amortisation. Simples really, it either stacks up or it doesn’t. |

Here's a thought, if Ford is planning a next generation Everest, then maybe
it will incorporate some of the Bronco's DNA but with softer styling cues. Just spit balling but maybe Bronco = LHD and Everest = RHD |

Yep that’d be interesting jdp, the Everest is pitched against the likes of Prado which is quite boring styling wise, I hope Ford go down that track:

I suspect that it would polarise buyers (love or hate it) where as Softer Prado/Everest styling could be easily tweaked to do much better sales wise, especially if Next Gen Ranger gets more F150 styling DNA... |

I'd quite like a 2-door Everest with the Bronco styling cues, that would do I guess.
