That car won't be racing this weekend, it's a mess, heavy impact with the right front into a tree peeling back the right front wheel, damn.

It didn't look too flash, on the news, after the crash. Can't find any pics of it on the net. Maybe he signed a deal with New Idea.

very sad, HOT car. I'm sure he can afford to restore it.

If not we should all pitch in by buying Hulk merchandise and he can use the royalties to restore it.....sounds like a plan! :

Thumbs down

Initially, Bana hoped that the car, which he has owned since he was 15, could be repaired to continue the final day of racing on Sunday. But a closer inspection by his support crew showed that the front right-hand steering and suspension were too badly damaged.

"We had been having a great day until then," Bana said. "But I misjudged a tight left-hander and we went in a little too fast _ the car understeered off the road and got onto the gravel and we went into a couple of trees at a fairly low speed.

"The car is a little battered on the driver's side which is a real shame, as many hours had been spent reshaping its original panels to get it just right. It's a real shame, but that's motor racing."

OH MY GOD! I just saw this on TV!!

When I read about his entrance in his first ever car (His beautifull XB) in this forum I have been following the topic closely by reading the papers daily, watching TV and scanning the net, then this happens! I cant believe it!!
Thank god he is OK, The car looked shot on TV. (The sponsors are getting plenty of media coverage thats for sure)
Hopefully he will be restoring it AGAIN. - I bet he is spewin, but, thats the nature of racing aye.

Default Eric bana smashed his car

In the sunday mail it show his car smashed into a tree yesterday and he walked away uninjured.
The crash is one of 12 accidents yesterday, all minor.

That is a car that is worth doing up. A brilliant example of an XB coupe.

One of the best looking vehicles in Australian Motoring History.

Maybe Eric should take inspiration for the next rebuild from another classic TV character, The Six Million Dollar Man.

Eric can rebuild the XB "better, stronger, faster..."

Nah Nah Nah Naaaaaaahhhh.....

Better fit those bionic brakes though Eric...

came into corner way too fast of course understeer and dosnt help whe the brakes are locked on

Targa is very dangerous and is a big boys event he is lucky he wasnt badly hurt ,car can be fixed

There a huge amount of enterants that have big wallets and no driver skill,
One example was i was luckily enough to crew on a couple of cars a few years back and when we got on the boat to come home they put all the smashed cars from Targa along one side of the boat as some are that F##KED that tow trucks drop em off at Devenport and towies from Melbourne are there when the ship docks to pick em up .Sorry back to tthe story ,a bloke was standing on the deck looking at the cars as we pulled on the ship and parked ,we got out of the truck we were in and started looking at all the wrecks i started talking to this guy while we were looking at a brand new Porsche that was smashed hard i said to him that car there is F##KED he said i know i own it ,i said sorry to hear he goes thats not the worst of it the car is a write off and i havnt made the first payment on it !!!!!! Value of the car $430 000
He stated he was just under experienced """" Tuff lesson"""""""
