Me neither. I'm on my second Omega Seamaster 2531.80.00 (the first was stolen...) and I wear it every single day, all the time. The only time I take it off is when I'm twirling spanners under my car. Sure, it's picked up a few scratches along the way, but that doesn't bother me one bit.

The primary purpose of a watch is so that it can tell you the time when you're wondering what time it is. Watches can't do that locked away in a box.

Other than my wedding band, it's the only piece of jewelry on me and I'll be wearing it on my deathbed, thankyouverymuch.

Thanks mate, but I already own a Tissot, a titanium chrono. I purchased mine in Switzerland back in 2000 for around 650 swiss francs (pre euro). I am starting to find that they are pretty common now, much like a citizen in popularity. Back when I bought mine there didn't seem to be nearly as many of them in shops or on wrists.

Will check the other brands out that you mention.

AC/DC that's a bloody nice watch, good onya.
Bit late checking out this thread or I'd have raved on the Breitlings, bit steep though hold their value too. Tend to wear other dress watches instead, including RipCurl and my Titanium Citizens - no rash, no petty jealousies either. Wear mine when dressed up to go out - stuff a big buck suit and neck strangler to fit in with the clones, not my cuppa - just good jeans or moleskins, and a great watch tucked under the sleeve of a nice shirt, and your feeling a million bucks.
I appreciate the Breitling quality of design and dedication to function, not keen on Rolex - got one of those uncle 'business man' who wears them and talks them up (like everything else). Not like you can take $$$ with you.

I rather my daily luxuries too, rather than the big flashy toys. Things like not having to drive an hour or two each way to work, being able to leave it at the gate, no mobile phone chasing me home, and things like Sorbent for example - cause mine stinks too but it's still my seat and no couch is comfortable enough or telly big enough to counteract bad paper.

Awesome, , how long have you had it for, , and do you mind sharing its history and how much you paid for it?

No I know and thats not what I said. What I mean is that they are becoming as common or popular as a citizen.

They are everywhere now.

Not too long ago they were not so common.

Soooo, when you want to know what time it is you just drive to the city, go to the bank, open the box, see the time and find our you're late due to all the travelling you had to do

I think you should listen to this (only 593kb)...http://www.thegoonshow.net/downloads..._it_eccles.mp3

You would make more by putting your money in a standard interest earning bank account. A Day-Date especially one with a non factory diamond set will depreciate in value, so if you bought it purely for investment reasons you bought the wrong model Rolex.

Not really. There are no Omegas in townsville, , I do have an older Adina, and my wife has a nice looking adina.

There is a decent jewelry shop in The Cat and Fiddle arcade that have a good range of Adina's if thats what you are looking for.

I looked around at the Omegas in brisbane, and found the 2250 SMP was the favourite.
( Now I am looking for a Sinn, Hamilton or Oris. )

Do you drink much ? And if you have the Rolex in a bank vault and considering the one in your link is valued at $50 000, I imagine you would have at least 1 picture of it on your computer?

Come on, , show us that pic. We are so keen to see a Ford Forums guy with a $50 000 watch !

My watch cost $800 when I bought it 5+ years ago, and I bet I would still get $800 at a pawn broker now. Good watches keep their value.

Cheap watches last a few months before needing new bands, batteries, things fixed, so you chuck it out and buy another watch. I have spend $15 getting a new battery in over 5 years, same watch the whole time.

I only have one watch though, but I will have mine the rest of my life, unless lost or stolen. A good watch will last more than a lifetime.
