Yeah I agree, going from an AUII-III to a B-series is a massive step backwards.
I myself thought about doing it but just love AU's to much.

i totally agree on the backward step into a b-series

i was never a car guy before i got my AU, i'm not nuts on the performance, but i love the driving experience like i never have on previous cars, and keep my AU running nice - series 2 futura I6.

my dad has had a BA since just before i got my AU, i've seen it alot, and driven it alot...i love the exterior of the ba...it is a sweet looking ride, not sure if the xr front is better, depends on my mood (the basic bf headlights look stupid), and i do like the exterior of the BA much better than the AU...but i hate the BA interior, & hate driving it, something is just not right.

a new car will possibly be my obsession in the next 6 months...depending on mortgage & stuff.the temptation for a BA/BF being a newer model will not concern me...the AU might not look quite as good outside...but the interior looks & most importantly the way it drives will see me buying a younger & better AU II/AU III than what i have now

It's funny you know, i once made a tongue-in-cheek remark about AU's being better than B-series's over in the B-series section - I got my post nuked and reprimanded for it.

Its good to see everyone knows the truth here however.

Drive the T a bit more.
XR8 2010: Lower a little. Work out slight engine vibration. Re tint the windows. New front windscreen. Maybe get some mags.
TE50 2010: Lower the bum. Fit Konis or something similar. Front windscreen and retint the rest. Slight tune n edit. Have another go at the quarter mile sub 13.5 secs.

The wagon's about to get an Airod variable mixer and maybe some HIDs' for the driving lights. The 'lane will be getting a decent trans cooler and some BA-BF slotted rotors and calipers to help pull her up a bit better. Then, depending on funds (and the minister of finance), I'll look at repainting the wagon and getting all the little dings and scrapes out.

slam it.. probably another 2" drop on top of how low it is now
bigger wheels.. 20's again i think..
re-tint the windows 15% all round.
sunroof
extractors and exhaust cos i don't think that funds will be there for a full v8/t5 conversion this year...maybe 2011

In no particular order:
• Fit new clutch
• Replace all front end bushes & balljoints
• Replace rear shock mounts
• Replace diff with reco'd unit
• Rebalance tailshaft
• Get remaining 3 rims repaired
• 4x new Tyres
• Continue collecting parts for an engine rebuild or replacement
• Flash tune
• If lotto numbers come up put TE into B&B Smash for a full respray & replace all seals/rubbers!
